you had decided that this moment might be your favorite. you laid on the beach in your favorite swimsuit, tanning in the heat of the sun. percy was splashing around in the water, doing different tricks to earn praise from you. moments like these helped remind you that, through everything, you were just two teenagers in love. no war ( or temper tantrum from the gods ) could take you away from eachother.

“sunshine?” percy asked from the water, “you there?”

“mhm. just enjoying myself.” you returned, shooting him a toothy grin.

“come swim?” he looked at you with a pleading gaze, motioning for you to join him. normally, you would say no, but something about the way his hair laid over his forehead or the way his skin glistened due to the heat made you agree. you stood up, walking over to the water and standing there for a moment.

“whatcha waiting for?” he smirked, offering his hand to you.

“i’m trying to acclimate, thank you very much.” you placed your hand in his. he quickly dragged you into the water, you letting out a gasp due to the temperature change.

“you have to go all at once. makes it easier.” he winked at you in mischief before pulling you entirely under the water. due to the taunt skin of your boyfriend, you weren’t as cold as you expected to be. being apollos daughter might have helped with that as well, but you chose not to address that part. you blinked away the water in your eyes before swimming back up to the surface. pushing your hair out of your face, you looked around for percy.

“perce!” you knew he could hear you from wherever he was under the water, yet he didn’t respond with words. instead, he wrapped his arms around your waist and picked you up. you wrapped your legs around his torso while he supported your thighs.

he looked at you with so much intensity you wondered if you should be concerned. his gaze held every emotion he couldn’t express through words. suddenly, he leaned in to place his lips on yours. the kiss was gentle. so soft yet filled with so much passion. one of his hands moved from its place under your thighs to the back of your neck. his skin against yours felt like pure euphoria. your hands tangles in his hair, pulling on the raven locks. this elicited a groan from percy.

he pulled back slowly, resting his forehead against yours. he spoke gently, “gods, sunshine.” he laughed slightly, head dipping down to your neck to trail kisses along the skin. “you taste like saltwater.” he pointed out.

“is that a good thing?” you questioned. you could feel his smile against the skin of your neck.

“it’s an amazing thing, sweetheart.” he spun you around in the water.

as time continued on, you both continued to swim around. from splashing eachother to floating on your backs, you just enjoyed each others presence. the sun started to set, casting an orange hue along the sky and water. bye the time the two of you got out of the water, your skin was filled with prunes and your hair was stiff. you didn’t mind, however, because you got to sown some much need alone time with your boyfriend in the serenity of the ocean water. you couldn’t have spent your afternoon better.

You sat up anxiously all night, pacing the dormitory and biting the inside of your cheek. Tonight was a full moon. Lily, Marlene, and Mary sat on the edge one of the beds watching as you paced. Of course, they didn’t know why you were pacing though. The only people who knew Remus was a werewolf were you and the marauders and none of the marauders knew that you two were even dating.

Her and Remus have been going strong since the night in the common room when they both confessed their feelings for each other. The hard part was keeping it a secret from the others. The only reason why they were keeping it a secret was because of James. He was very overprotective of his best friends but especially you.

“Love what’s got you this worked up?” Mary questioned hesitantly watching you pace around the room.

You waved her off muttering a small ‘nothing’ under your breath. Mary sighed standing up and putting her hands on your shoulders.

“The sun is quite literally rising and we have heard you walking around all night.” Mary stated her eyebrows furrowed in concern.

Something switched in your head and you quickly meet eyes with her.

“Wait the sun is rising?” You said in alarm. You were so busy worrying that you had completely lost track of time.

Mary nodded her head while moving out of the way so you could look outside of the window. Your eyes widened as you quickly grabbed your shoes and tied them on.

You had your clothes still on from yesterday so you didn’t even need to change. You grabbed the small thing of chocolate by your bed and quickly made your way out of the dormitory. Leaving the girls to look at each other with looks of bewilderment and confusion.

You felt your heart rate go a mile a minute as you tried to get to the infirmary as quickly as you could. Once you had reached outside of the doors you were out of breath, you heaved a long sigh to then attempted to fix your hair before pulling the door open.

You stepped inside looking around the beds. You looked until you saw him. You felt relief flood through your body as you let out quiet sigh of relief.

You walked slowly towards him seeing him look so peaceful while he slept made your heart warm. You pulled the curtains around him before moving one of the chairs beside his bed.

Once you sat down on the chair then you gently grabbed his hand watching his chest move up and down with each breath. You laid your head on the bed finally letting sleep wash over you now that you knew Remus was safe.

You woke groggily feeling your back ache. ‘It was definitely not a good idea to sleep in that position’ you thought to yourself. Until you heard a small laugh.

“Sleeping beauty is awake.” Remus muttered watching you a soft eyes and a small smile.

You looked up and you couldn’t help but let a grin rise to your lips.

“Look the beast is awake.” You countered back with a playful expression.

He laughed before wincing softly. You stood and walked closer to his bedside.

“Bad moon?” You questioned looking down at him.

He nodded with a slightly pained expression. He sighed softly looking up at you. He looked into your eyes and felt nothing but love and contempt fill within him. He lifted his covers in a way to tell you to lie down next to him. You bit your lip wondering if it was a good idea since he was hurt but he seemed absolutely sure.

You climbed under the duvet as he pulled the cover over the two of you. You looked down at his bare chest which had a couple of new bandages.

“I don’t know how you manage to do this every month.” You murmured softly looking down at all of the scars that littered his chest. The new ones and the old ones.

He sighed kissing your forehead “I’ve gotten used to it, darling.” He answered while his fingers played with your hair.

“But being in pain like this? I’m not even sure how you’re letting me lay this close to you.” You acknowledged tracing an old scar from a year ago, you remembered it because it was one of the really bad nights.

“You heal me. I feel no pain when you’re with me.” He admitted softly feeling a shiver travel down his spine at your touch.

You felt your brain go haywire at the admission but you didn’t let it show. You just continued tracing his scars with a small sappy grin.

“Look at me,” Remus said quietly causing you to look up and meet his eyes.

“I’ll always come back home to you. Even if I have to crawl.” He told you with nothing but certainty

You looked into his eyes and it felt like he could read your mind seeing all of your emotions and worries.

“I love you, Remus.” You said watching as a huge grin formed on his face.

“I love you too.” He said before giving you a small chaste kiss on your lips. The kiss was all you needed to feel nothing but reassured by him.

The sound of the curtain opening is what caused the two of you to pull away.

“What the hell!?” The three boys shouted in unison looking utterly shocked.

You felt nothing but embarrassment fill every limb of your entire body as you hid your face in the crook of Remus’s neck.

You felt the vibration of his laughter. Remus was completely unbothered. He knew James wasn’t going to do anything to him especially not after a full moon.

“Since when was this a thing?” James stated in a mix of anger and confusion.

“What’s it been, darling? Almost six months?” He said softly in your ear only causing you to turn beet red.

He laughed at your bashfulness and clarified to the boys that it had been six months.

James didn’t know what to feel, he felt betrayed, angry, and confused. Remus sighed reading his best friend’s expression. Remus knew James like the back of his hand since they had been friends for years.

“James, I’m never going to hurt her. Do you wonder why the week before full moons haven’t been as bad as usual? It’s because of her. She’s my everything now James.” Remus stated, usually he would never admit something like that but loving you and the way you treat him makes Remis want to shout how much he loves you from the rooftops.

James let out a long breath, he knew he couldn’t be mad. It was Remus after all. He watched Remus look at you and the way his eyes softened and the way small smile naturally grew on his face. You were it for him. It would take a blind fool to think otherwise.

“We’ll leave you to it.” James said softly shutting the curtain and left the two of you alone again.

Remus gave him a small nod as the curtain shut before looking down meeting your gaze.

“You mean that?” You spoke delicately.

A childish grin formed on his lips while he nodded his head

“Every damn word.”

The weather outside was perfect. Especially for you. It was the first snow of winter. Once you had looked outside your dormitory you immediately got dressed and made your way out of the door.

The marauders sat in the common room, Peter was trying to beat Remus at exploding snap which wasn’t going too well for him. Sirius and James sat back watching in pure boredom knowing that Remus was going to win anyway.

You were walking down the steps while putting on your coat before making your way through the common room and through the portrait.

“Where’s she off to?” Sirius questioned looking around at his mates.

The boys shrugged which caused Sirius to roll his eyes.

“Well, wherever she is going I’ll follow her. It has to be more entertaining than watching Moony beat Peter again.” Sirius said standing up.

James stood up as well “I’m going to.”

Sirius nodded at both the boys and exited the common room. They had to catch up with you because you were a good distance ahead of them.

“Ah, following me like a bunch of lost puppies, I see.” You remarked seeing your brother and James follow behind you but nonetheless continued to walk.

James laughed “Anything is better than watching Remus beat Peter for the hundredth time. You know that love.” He said now matching your pace.

You rolled your eyes shaking your head before Sirius spoke up.

“What are you doing anyways?” Sirius inquired putting his hands in his pockets

You smile shrugging your shoulders “Just taking a stroll, it’s the first snow of winter.”

Sirius clicked his tongue “There it is. You and your hyper fixation with snow.”

James grinned “You have a hyper fixation with snow?” He stated curiously.

“Oh yes, she does, since I can remember.” Sirius spoke for you before sighing dramatically.

“Well, I’m going to go back into the common room before I freeze my balls off I’ll leave you two to it. Don’t do anything I wouldn’t.” Sirius warned before turning around and going back towards the direction of the common room.

Silence fell on the pair as you made your way towards the courtyard. Once you had finally reached the courtyard, you walked out and oddly lifted your hands to try and catch the snow. You grinned feeling the cold flakes brush your cheeks.

James leaned on one of the pillars observing you. He knew you were gorgeous. I think everyone in Gryffindor Tower knew but seeing the way your eyes lit up upon seeing the snow and the way your usual sarcastic smile turned into one of absolute joy was something James never knew he wanted to see.

He watched your cheeks and your nose began to turn a shade of red due to the cold outside but it honestly looked like you were immune to the temperature. He felt a grin begin to make its way onto his face.

‘You were absolutely angelic’ James thought to himself. This caused James to quickly shake his head. No, he couldn’t think about you in that way. Sirius would never allow that.

You found your gaze landing on James who stood leaning against a pillar with his hands in his pockets. The way he was staring at you made your heart speed up a little. You walked towards him and stood in front of him before grabbing his hand.

“C’mon don’t be a bugger. Enjoy the snow with me.” You said with a smile before pulling him along into the snow.

James followed you like always. ‘Merlin he really was a lost puppy’ he thought to himself. You finally stopped pulling him and you quickly ran backwards.

“Okay Black, what are you doing?” James asked with a confused grin.

Meanwhile, you smiled mischievously as you began to pile snow in your hands.

“Oh, you wanna play that game with me? James said tilting his head challengingly only making you nod your head

“Bring it on Potter.” You taunted before lobbing a snowball right at him.

He licked his lips shaking his head before reaching down and tossing one right back at you. You grinned getting closer to him and slinging one right at his groin. He tilted his head and instead of picking up a snowball, he ran towards you.

You ran as fast as you could while trying not to slip on the wet snow. It didn’t take long for James to catch up with you. He grabbed you by the waist lifted you off the ground and put you in a position where you hung off his back.

“Put me down, you buffoon!” You shouted with a mix of laughter seeping into your speech.

“No can do love!” He shouted before spinning you around a little to make you dizzy.

You laughed before he set you back on your feet. You looked up at him grinning like a child and he looked back at you with a grin you couldn’t quite put a finger on.

James stared at you with nothing but admiration in his eyes. Even with your hair now messy from hanging upside down and your cheeks bright red. He still thought you were gorgeous. Without even thinking he walked closer reaching out and tucked a piece of your hair behind your ear.

You felt your smile fade as you watched him look at you. The way he was looking at you right now made butterflies erupt in your stomach. You licked your lips staring right up at him.

“James, watch it.” You spoke softly and he tilted his head.

“I don’t think I want to though.” He said taking a step closer.

“James, what if Sirius sees you or one of the other Marauders.” You stated in a warning tone which only made James smile even wider.

“So what? You know I have no problem taking on Sirius.” James replied letting his hand rest on your practically frozen cheek.

You stood in place looking up James. You always thought James was attractive. There was no denying that but the way he was looking at you now was a dangerous game.

James leaned in slightly brushing his lips over yours “Tell me not to and I will never speak of this.” He vowed.

You couldn’t even say anything. You wanted this just as much as him. He grinned and leaned in pressing his lips against yours with a sense of purpose.

You felt his other hand find your waist as his other hand never left your cheek. You smiled into the kiss letting your hands find the hair on the back of his neck. He pulled you impossibly closer before he pulled his lips away while kepping you close.

You felt a massive smile form on your face without even realizing it.

“Merlin you’re stunning.”
