Doe had been out on her morning run when Remus had asked to meet her, and if there was one person she couldn’t say no to, it was the calmest Marauder. They had bonded early on during their years at Hogwarts, and she was thankful that despite how crazy their lives had all gotten, they were still able to rely on each other. He was someone she had been careful about keeping up communication with after graduation. His friendship had always been important to her, and just because they graduated, didn’t mean it would change anything.
Finishing her last lap by meeting up with Remus was the best way to finish her morning work out. “Hiya!” she called out, a little breathless as she stopped in front of him. Pulling him into a tight hug, she kissed his cheek as they parted, “How are you luv?” she asked, genuinely. Grinning, she nodded at his offer, “Of course. You know I can never turn down a good ice cream stop” she agreed. Nudging his shoulder as they walked, Doe shook her head, “Oh hush, you don’t need to thank me. I’m always happy to have you for company.”
Her hug was almost like a world. Doe always was so kind to him, even when he avoided some physical contact because of his scars, afraid of being rejected. Remus smiled nervously as she kept so amazing to treat him as a best friend it could be. He was already feeling like shit for trying to tell her the truth. She couldn’t live without knowing the truth. “I am doing great, and how about you? I am happy to see that you are running…”
Remus was feeling a little bit of pain because of the full moon but worked well to hide with a smile, as she moved closer. “I am glad to hear that. Probably I could have hot cocoa, but I am here to make sure you have ice cream.” He was trying so hard to not show the truth in there, all it was planning to be well and they were near the ice cream store. Just a little bit more, it wasn’t too far. “Thank you again for coming around. I was starting to be claustrophobic inside of the house working.” He opened the door for her slower than usual, and smiled, “Ladies first.”
