Mlp Redesigns: Rainbow Dash

My rainbow design has already been shown on my blog, so I got to skip the hard work of figuring her out this time! I’m still super happy with her though. You can see her with the other mane 6 Here!

Design notes and comparisons under cut:

-Added AU/headcannon pegasus traits (feathered hooves/ears, spurs/claws, thinner/longer legs, etc)

-it kinda ends up with the pegasi looking the most horse-like lol, but I don’t mind it! I find that it balances all the feathers well

-Even though I draw most pegasi pretty thin and such, Rainbow has an athletic build even by that standard- like a greyhound if a greyhound was. A horse

-coloration and wing shape are both based on the peregrine falcon (the bird with the highest recorded dive speed). It gives the added benefit of making her look like a storm cloud :]

-similar to Pinkie who always Needs to be pink, Rainbow Dash needs the rainbow hair. I added lightning-strike shaped tufts to make it interesting for me! I like the grey better than her usual blue, but now the mane 6 is significantly missing blue from the palette.

-Her cutie mark is mostly the same except I made the rainbow longer, and added more colors to it

Rainbow is just a hair taller than twilight- but it rarely matters since she barely lands her hooves on the ground for more than a few seconds! I feel like she probably has adhd, if I remember her g4 behaviors correctly. Impulse control and inattention and all that
