Oh yeah, someone asked for any references for the layout of the Dugong Cafe and I realised I have barely put anything down on canvas or paper for that... so here are a few rough/freehand sketches
It actually takes some pretty heavy inspiration from this little Cafe I visited a little while ago now down in Redlands Bay [in fact it's kinda what kicked off the whole idea in the first place... though I did take some liberties as to the layout, and added a ramp]
To be fair, I only took one photo of the interior because I was trying to avoid capturing people's faces, but the interior of the Dugong Cafe is sorta supposed to have similar vibes (maybe minus a bit of clutter and the dessert shelves next to the counter)
The view down towards the ferry terminal and into the adjacent slipway (I'm still not 100% sure what the exact surroundings of the Dugong Cafe are gonna be)
So yeah that's kinda what I'm feeling when I say 'small seaside cafe' (I really need to get better at drawing interiors...)
Oh, oh! Bonus! This auxilliary doodle from Ivy's ref. sheet
(Slightly scuffed anatomy and posing aside, Ivy is looking at a photo of Violet on her first day [creatively labelled 'Violet First Day'].) On the top left of the photo, Ivy has written 'it's gonna be ok'.
