Greetings, compassionate souls,
I am engineer Mohammed Abu Qaoud, reaching out to you from the heart of Gaza, where the echoes of resilience are drowned out by the haunting sounds of war and the pervasive scent of death and destruction.
With me are my beloved family members: my father, Abdel Nasser Abu Qaoud, my mother, Samar Abu Qaoud, my brother, Ahmed Abu Qaoud, and my sister, Mariam Abu Qaoud.
We have witnessed the abrupt transformation of our lives, forcing us to contend with devastation. Before these fateful events, our family enjoyed a semblance of stability. Our home was a sanctuary for us, but since the fourth day of the war over 300 days ago, we were regretfully displaced from the house we passionately built over 10 years.
The tranquility we once enjoyed was shattered by the brutality of the conflict. Now, we find ourselves displaced for eight months, struggling to find safety amid the ongoing violence.
Our home was partially destroyed and needs rebuilding and renovation. Currently, we live in a tent we made with primitive materials, which is unfit for living.
Life in our new surroundings has become a daily struggle amid the renewed crises each day.
The months of war have left us without basic necessities. The absence of work, electricity, and reliable internet, along with the destruction of vital infrastructure, has plunged us into severe hardships. With no means of income, we find ourselves grappling with the harsh reality of poverty, unable to afford even the most basic necessities due to soaring prices and scarcity of essential goods.
But I have not lost hope,
With your support, I believe we can rebuild our lives. Your kindness can provide us with the means to survive the dire conditions in Gaza, and to find safety and stability for my family. Your simple support can help us rebuild our family home or to travel and escape this grim reality, regaining our freedom in life.
