a look into the past
This is true of the manga, but I love how the anime accentuates the absolute physical trust the apprentices have with Qifrey. Specifically with Agott, the way she is so ready when Qifrey says âhang on tight, I need my hands freeâ to cling to him a mile into the sky, and then in the latest episode, how, as soon as she impacts Qifrey while flying to him, she makes no move to save herself, she just curls into him and trusts that he will keep them from falling.
And I think it works as a signal to the audience, to subtly go âhey, I know we donât trust Qifrey right now, heâs being shady, but we can always trust him to protect the physical wellbeing of his kids. Remember that.â Idk man maybe Iâm getting too attached to a teeny detail but aaaaaaghhhh thatâs her dad.
stealing your tags
#anyways i think it's particularly notable that fiercely independent always-has-something-to-prove Agott is like this with him#and that none of the apprentices really hide how they're feeling around him even when that feeling is negative#Agott and Richeh make it known when they're unhappy with Qifrey#and they (two abused kids) just flat out wouldn't do this if he wasn't a safe person to be unhappy at
frieren is about discovering what makes life worth living after you lost someone before you realized how you felt about them. dunmeshi is about how we are all animals in the end, and confronting the monstrous reality of consumption, in all its forms. witch hat is about how the technology that makes our society function could be used to make peopleâs lives better, but especially disabled people are left out, and those in power choose very specifically who actually benefits. how fitting that three of the most popular and poignant fantasy stories of the 2010s-2020s are about grief, consumption, and power.
What do you mean âchatâ is now referring to ChatGPT and not twitch chat? What? What? What the fuck? No?
When I address chat I am speaking to a presumed Greek chorus of real human people shitposting on their lunch break, not a machine that devours lakes to covert electricity into slop.
i want the epic: the musical movie to animate its bloopers for the credits
thinking about the cancelled Six of Crows adaptation

Too bad the prophet Cassandra never met Odysseus
They say if she made a prophecy Nobody would believe her
Iâve gotta say, that is exactly the kind of stupid thing that probably would circumvent a curse.
Cassandra: YOU ARE ALL GOING TO REGRET THIS SO MUCH YOU DONâT EVEN KNOW.Â
Odysseus: Regret it why?
Cassandra: You wonât believe me if I tell you. If I prophecy, nobody believes me. That is my curse.
Odysseus: ⊠Iâm Nobody. Fill me in.Â
*A couple of months later*Â
Odysseus: HELLO PENELOPE, I AM HERE PRECISELY ON TIME AND NOT YEARS LATE incidentally I rescued and adopted a Trojan seer while I was away, sheâs great, got me home really fast, Cassandra this is your new mother whoâs not going to treat you like shit.Â
Penelope: ⊠Iâm going to need more details, but okay, sure.Â
Cassandra: *in tears* I love you, new family.Â
Cassandra: Penelope, Iâve had another vision.
Penelope, sighs: Go tell your father.
the original? on my dash?
they're partners, they're roommates, they know each other better than anyone, they barely know anything at all, they're in love, they don't really know what that means, she's a runaway, he's a homeowner, they both try to do everything themselves, he's a schemer, she thrives on spontaneity, he's a professional ragebaiter, his biggest competition is a skull, they hold hands all the time, they're just friends, they have the same best friend, she thinks she's fine all on her own, she needs at least two roommates to keep her alive, he loves testing out new accents, she thinks they all sound dumb, they're always the reason the other one's in danger and they're always the reason the other one makes it out.
I, so deeply, appreciate them re-introducing mythomagic like this (cause I forgot that it was already introduced in S1) because it really shows that these guys are not playing (pun intended lol). Theyâre creating each season, each episode, keeping upcoming plot lines in mind. And theyâre doing it in such a gorgeous and nuanced way because now, it all just means so much MORE.
And itâs not just with this. Theyâre filling the show with foreshadowing thatâs so purposeful for whats coming in the future. Theyâve increasing the significance of the blade, something the books definitely had but not like this. The way theyâre positioning it, is going to make whatâs coming a lot worse to watch.
Even the small little inputs like the magazine with Hunters of Artemis or the FUCKING CAR!?!?
And the characters⊠the way theyâve bettered Tyson and Clarisse needs to admired very aggressively!!
I just love that the entire team cares about the stories as much as we do.
I now present for your enjoyment: "Mom and Dad"

List Of: Details I Loved in The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
The computer genius is the most emotional!! I feel like we donât get that a lot, but maybe Iâm wrong

The advisor (torin) isnât evil!!
The doctors admittance that he would have gone on supporting everything on luna and being a devoted citizen, but because it was His Daughter, it should have been different for His Family, she should be The Exception, because Thatâs His Daughter. He knew his hypocrisy, and hey better late than never??
Acknowledging that seeing levanas true appearance as monstrous isnât fair or right, and that her appearance doesnât really have any bearing on her being horrible, because being a monstrous person isnât about how you look.
Cinder is never not a cyborg
â I donât wanna hear anyone say anything about how delicious that is!â âItâs completely disgusting, you would hate it.â
âNone of my friendâs bodies are replaceable, why should mine be?â
Just Iko. Sheâs the best.

For most of the time, even when she is being terribly threatening and unspeakably evil, Levana is beautiful. And not beautiful in the untouchable and intimidating way, but in a way where you just admire her and adore her. Very specifically, when she is described, her voice is pleasant and melodic, her face is stunning and breathtaking. Yes she is awful, and eventually she starts declining in her emotional and mental control so that more of her irritation and cruelty and anger show, but initially the cognitive dissonance of this woman who looks so beautiful and charming and gracious act so callous and entitled is meant to be there
Some men can be useful when separated from their object of Eternal Loyalty and Devotion. Some cannot. Iâm looking at you wolf -_-.
Revolutions are bloodyâ when your advantage over the oppressive regime is numbers, you are going to end up stepping over the bodies of fellow rebels just to take a shot at the palace gates. They canât take all of you, but they sure can kill a lot of you.
Iâm about to get my throat bitten out by my good friend wolf for the fifth time in three days :)
Everyone was thinking it, and no one voiced the thoughtâ can cinder swim?
Snow White and her animals VS Winter in her animal sanctuary parallels

Liam O'Brien: Baby.
Carswell Thorne was never truly loved by his parents. On the surface, they were a picturesque family: a wealthy military man and a beautiful socialite woman, a lavish LA home and their son to follow in his father's footsteps. Carswell's value in the family is contingent on whether or not he adheres to this carefully constructed family image. Kingsley requires that his son join the military against Carswell's personal wishes, reprimands him for his lacking grades, and even forces his son to call him "Sir."
Carswell's mother is not much better. Rather than be overly strict, she is too concerned with her elitist lifestyle to be an involved mother. She chastises her son for wanting simple things instead of flashy designer items, and when he vents his frustrations about his father to her, she acts like he never spoke to begin with.
The couple won't let him have a real cat, because that's too much work, too likely to taint their impeccable home with its shedding and clawing. His mother doesn't want him to wear a Rampion pin because it isn't a luxurious ship and they have an image to uphold. Carswell's kindest exchanges at home are with their maid Janette. She treats him like the boy he is, not the man his parents expect him to be at only thirteen, even calling him 'Captain' because she knows any thirteen-year-old boy enjoys feeling a bit superior.
Nothing he does is ever good enough, so Carswell starts seeking attention elsewhere. If he's always in trouble, he might as well risk discipline for things that could potentially benefit him. Stealing, lying, even freeing a big cat from a zoo cage. If he is never praised for doing good, why bother feeling guilty about doing bad? This becomes his dream: to travel the world as a Captain--away from his parents--without anyone to tell him what to do.
People become expendable and relationships transactional to a young Carswell, a means to an end to reach his profit goals. Girls are pretty and he likes the attention from them, but he's never interested in pursuing a serious relationship with those who bat their lashes and twirl their hair at him. He doesn't know love, so he has no craving for it. But he does know what it means to be unloved. Charisma becomes his currency; if he controls the situation through his wit and charm, he cannot be unloved as he always holds the advantage. When people flatter and adore him, he fills the void of emotional connection with the superficial. He dates casually, tells every girl he sees that he loves them. He never means it and never sees anything wrong with it.
weâre so back
Zootopia was about how racism can be found anywhere and ignorance is a weapon that politicians use to fear monger and maintain control meanwhile Zootopia 2 was about the elimination of entire communities in race wars to force minorities out of their homes and the use of racism to divide people so the wealthy can profit... hmm..... interesting, that doesnt sound familiar at all.....
