Attraction
I remember a conversation I had in a girls small group years ago. It was about ‘Dreaming of God Centered Love’. The topic that night was something along the lines of “Holy Hottie Who Isn’t Holy.” One line stood out to me and although I don’t remember it word for word, a summary is:
“Absolutely, we should never be pompous and petty, but that in no way means we should avoid attraction. Dream big girls. God gave you those preferences for a reason. Ever thought of that?”
The women speaking firmly believed that we were and are attracted to certain aspects of a person because God was basically giving us a microscope to help focus in on who we are meant to spend the rest of our life with.
I like men with brown hair and green eyes. I like men with a lively sense of humor and a heart so full with God he can’t help but spew unconditional love and seek His purpose in everything he does. I like men who love music in a deep soul wrenching way. I like men who understand the depth of language and how the words we use can literally change everything.
God gave me these preferences for a reason and I refuse to ignore them. I refuse to lower my standards in any way. Both physical and mental attributes that I find attractive have a purpose. Think of it like this. “God sent you on a scavenger hunt and and along the way has been slowly placing clues to who your future spouse will be. DON’T IGNORE THEM. Someday you will put the pieces together and Mr. Right will follow.
That’s about all I have to say. Just a few too many words from your pal Kara.
