So today I made my own alphabet. Mostly for sigil making but also for secret writing 😈

And I found an invisible ink pen. That works for putting sigils on stuff without anyone knowing. You’re welcome.

if its not a bother could i ask how u guys usually make your sigils??? im a beginning witch so id like some tips, i can just look up more info on other blogs if u dont want to put non-kin stuff on here tho.

Sigils direct energy towards a certain goal, as a general definition.

To start off, come up with your goal. It tends to work better if the goal is not a hyper specific thing.

When you write it down, do not write the sentence in the form of “I wish that I will [x goal],” write more like, as one website I found said, your future self shouting it back to you now. So like “I did [x goal].”

Then, you take out all of the vowels. If your sentence was “I am in a good mood,” it now reads “m n gd md”

Next, you delete double syllables. So using the previous example, you would have “m n g” left (though most sentences have longer strings of letters, I find).

You combine the remaining letters to make a symbol, then spend some time simplifying it. There are a couple of different ways that you can activate it, many people burn them (please be careful tho) or draw them on their skin (my personal favourite).

3 Tips for Trusting in Your Cards

  The main basis (in my experience) of useful, clear divination is trust. And just like people, you can’t just pick up a deck of cards and expect to fully trust the deck, or for it to trust you.   When I picked up a deck of cards for the VERY first time, I made a lot of mistakes. I’ve come a long way since then, and though I may still be a bit of a novice, I hope I can help some one.

Draw Cards of the Day!    Especially if you have a brand new deck, or one you haven’t worked with in a very long time. Not only does it open the door for interaction in a very simple, open-ended way, but by doing so you can get a better grip on what the cards mean and your own interpretations of them.

Get comfortable!   Clear a space where you can feel safe and unhindered. This could include a separate room, or your kitchen table. Wherever you plan on card reading, I suggest a flat, completely soild surface covered by a cloth unique to your card readings (though it’s completely up to you if you’d like to work without it!) Sit however you’d like- on the floor, on a footstool. Sit up straight, sit cross-legged. Make the room dark or as light as you’d like, etc. The more you relax with and around your cards, the better they can receive your energy, and the more in tune you’ll be! And if standing on your head with one shoe on and Enya playing works for you, then so be it!

DO NOT REDRAW  The BIGGEST mistake I’ve ever made, was not believing my cards were telling me the truth. I would redraw to see if I got the same cards again, or if the answer I received seemed unlikely I would disregard it altogether. Believe. In. Your. Cards! If something seems unlikely, trust in in- but with a grain of salt. Never ever EVER redo your draw- you will just to be disappointed when you don’t draw the same card(s)! This creates a barrier and disconnection- just like with a person. If you accuse all your friends of being liars, or need to check and recheck their answers constantly- you won’t have many left! Of course, if you feel the cards’ message was muddy or unclear redrawing for clarification is a-okay. But don’t redraw just to test them!

When you’re low on energy and don’t have the momentum to whip up a spell, intentions and affirmations can be all you need. Use words to summon up your courage or to send your positive energies to friends. Remember that you’re magical and you have so much power within you!

Make Your Own Besom

You’ll Need:

A four foot stick ~1 inch in diameter

Ball of twine

Scissors

Straw, twigs, or herbs for the bristles

Allow dry straw to soak overnight in warm, lightly salted water

Remove the straws from the water and allow them to dry to the touch

Lay out the length of your stick, and line up your straw

Starting about three inches from the bottom, lay the straws facing backward along the stick

Securely bind the straw to the stick with twine

Continue adding as many layers of straw as necessary to reach desired fullness

When the straw is secured, pull the straws down over the twine so that they face the right direction, covering your initial ties

Tie off the folded straws again, a few inches below the original tie

Leave the besom overnight to dry

Paint and decorate the dry besom as desired

Dedicate your finished besom in your Circle as you would any other ritual tool

Sooooo . . . . magic

I have been magic-ing my ass off this year, and I’ve made some observations. Most of these are for me, but you might be able to relate.

Sometimes you have to ask the question differently to get what you want.

Sometimes you have to settle for a tad less than what you want.

Sometimes you have to ask multiple times.

Did you know that impatience has an energy? Me neither. At least, I had never thought about it.

The Universe doesn’t actually like hearing you whine and will attempt to shut you up … that may just be me.

I’ve made several attempts to stop magic with telepathy and … no.

I’ve made attempts at performing magic with telepathy and yes.

Magic people can “smell” other magic people. The more magic you do the more fragrant you are. People also assume that you’re powerful as opposed to … .really busy.

The entities will laugh at you and go tell other entities … it’s fucking high school all over again.

Humans can be familiars and that’s weird.

If your spell fails, ffs just do it again. Spilled milk, man. We all have off days.

It’s not that big of a deal.

Always attempt to have a reversal spell on hand because … . reasons.

By reversal, I mean have a spell on hand that will cause the opposite result … not necessarily an actual reversal spell … per se.

Doing magic to fix magic is as much funny-haha as it is funny-oh-no.

Different people react differently to the same spell. If you’re flinging magic at people, you may want to keep that in mind.

You can randomly end up with astral pets, and pet thoughtforms. They’re yours be nice to them. They have feelings.

I’m hoping my next year is just as magical, if not more so. I’m looking forward to it. It’s important to look forward to things.

9 Witchy Self Care Tips

Make a personal sigil and keep it on you. It can be a sigil for self love, motivation or anything along those lines. I like to draw a sigil on my wrist, shoulder or above my knee.

Make a chant or affirmation to make you feel good about yourself. Also make a playlist of possitive and affirming songs and put it on shuffle.

Make your own personal blend of herbal tea to soothe you in times of need. Use your favorite herbs and spices.

Adopt a plant, something very easy and low maintenance, to boost your self esteem and to have someone to talk to. This could be an easy succulent or cactus.

Enchanted jewelry or pieces of clothing. Extra point for making your own jewelry or clothing.

Make small rituals, like a morning ritual where you stretch, meditate, make tea etc.

Meditate. Take time to sit still and breath, with or without music. 

Cleanse your space, both physically and mentally. Whenever you find the time and the energy try to clean your room / house of clutter and maybe smoke cleanse it.

Cleanse your mind. Write down everything that bothers you, worries you or just makes you sad. You can keep the paper somewhere safe or burn it to get rid of the bad energy, if it makes you feel better. Just be careful with fire!
