i talk with yousef often, but with the blackout in palestine i hadn't heard from him in a while. i finally heard back and he informed me that the gofundme (linking for reference) will no longer be used for donating, but the same person running the gofundme me will be accepting donations through paypal to support yousef and his family
if you cannot scan the qr code, his @ is @OsamLolo on paypal (conversion table for convenience below, thanks to @thegreatdemonzhuyan)
please help me spread around this! the gofundme keeps getting notes but i want to help let people know about the paypal account! especially when the blackout makes it difficult for yousef and mona to get internet access!

My Mother's Life Depends on Your Kindness 💔
My mother is in Gaza, where every day is a struggle to survive. Some time ago, she was injured when shrapnel from nearby shelling struck her back. She tried to endure the pain for as long as she could, but now her condition has become critical.
She has now been admitted to the hospital, and her condition is very serious. She is suffering from unbearable back pain, extreme exhaustion, and every passing day brings more suffering. Watching my mother fight through this pain while I can do so little is heartbreaking.
The doctors told us that she urgently needs emergency back surgery. They warned us that the operation must be performed within the next 6 days to prevent her condition from deteriorating further.
The total cost of this life-saving surgery is $1,000.
Thanks to the incredible kindness of compassionate people, we have now raised $267 through our previous fundraising posts. We are deeply grateful to every person who has donated, shared our story, or kept my mother in their prayers.
That means we still need $441 from this appeal to complete the remaining amount needed for her surgery. We are getting closer, but time is running out, and every dollar brings my mother one step closer to the operation that could save her life.
I am begging you from the bottom of my heart: please don't scroll past my mother's suffering. Every donation, no matter how small, truly makes a difference. Even $5 or $10 can help when many kind people come together.
If you are unable to donate, please share this post with your friends, family, and community. Your share could reach someone who is able to help save my mother's life.
Please help us raise the remaining $441 within the next 6 days. My mother's condition is very serious, and she cannot wait any longer.
Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and for standing with my family during the most difficult time of our lives ❤️.
this post and all its wonderful additions (look in the notes) is circulating again. these photos and many of the ones added in the notes come from the US Southwest.
right now the trump administration is attacking the public lands in the Southwestern US. most recently (July 2026), in Utah the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments have been cut by over 90% to allow for mining. these lands are sacred to multiple Native nations in the area and contain irreplaceable archeological sites. additionally, the commission of Native representatives who aided in management of these lands has been dissolved leaving Native people without a voice in caring for the remaining land. (read more here)
here in New Mexico, the 10 mile buffer zone surrounding Chaco Canyon preventing oil and gas drilling is under attack. Chaco Canyon contains incredibly old and incredibly fragile archeological sites sacred to Pueblo people. these sites are threatened by mining and drilling. (read more here)
The attack on the Chaco buffer zone is currently in a public comment period open until July 29. PLEASE leave a public comment to save these irreplaceable places.
hi everyone, i absolutely hate doing this again, but i have no money left for food and i haven't been able to eat anything at all today. for some background info, i'm currently unable to work as my mental health also affects me physically an overwhelming amount, so i'm currently on sickness benefit and i'm barely scraping by as it is.
if anyone would like to help me get some food, i'd be so forever grateful, setting a goal just in case, but please take care of yourselves first <3
STOP SCROLLING FOR A MOMENT. TONIGHT, I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO LOSE MY WIFE. Tonight, I watched my wife's condition get worse, and my heart nearly stopped. I have never felt so helpless, because I knew she desperately needed treatment and I had no way to provide it. The doctor examined her and prescribed urgent injections and medication that she must start taking as soon as possible. The cost is around €800, and every day of delay makes our fear bigger. I am begging you as a husband who has nothing left except hope in kind strangers. Please help me get my wife the treatment she needs. Your donation today could make the difference between more suffering and a chance for her to recover. Please donate now GoFundMe.
i made a post like this before but I can't find it now. so. I'll just redo it.
What's the first "big news story" you remember from when you were a kid?
It's something I love to ask mixed-aged groups sometimes because I think it's really interesting to see the responses. I've gotten answers from the Olympics of [whatever year] to Watergate to more recent stuff from my niblings.
My first news thing I remember is the OJ Simpson trial. I vaguely remember watching the news with my grandparents before that, but that's the first story I remember, in part because my second grade teacher had us go play so she could watch the verdict 😂
After an IDF sniper from Chicago kills an unarmed civilian in Gaza, he then snipes and kills his unarmed younger brother trying to retrieve his brother's body. US-funded serial killer from Chicago says: "I mean, what was so important about that corpse?"
an attached screenshot reads: Daniel Raab shows no hesitation as he watches footage of 19-year-old Salem Doghmosh crumpling to the ground beside his brother in a street in northern Gaza.
"That was my first elimination," he says. The video, shot by a drone, lasts just a few seconds. The Palestinian teenager appears to be unarmed when he is shot in the head.
Raab, a former varsity basketball player from a Chicago suburb who became an Israeli sniper, concedes he knew that. He says he shot Salem simply because he tried to retrieve the body of his beloved older brother Mohammed.
"It's hard for me to understand why he [did that] and it also doesn't really interest me," Raab says in a video interview posted on X. "I mean, what was so important about that corpse?"
"a former varsity basketball player from a Chicago suburb".
USians travel thousand of kilometres to go terrorise Palestinians, and people still have the temerity to wonder why the resistance fighters had to fight.
