Like assuming that all drowning victims thrash around in the water when they’re drowning, but they really just kind of zone out and look up. No lifeguards would ever think anyone was actually drowning. Not really. You’re totally free to not eat bacon, but you’re not allowed to tell me I’m disgusting for liking it. Odds are if your religion allowed it, bacon would probably be one of your favorite foods too.

No, the only guy I thought about while I was abroad was you. Maybe you don’t care, but I do. I didn’t even know Britt and Santana broke up until I got back, and the only reason I found out about Carter was because of Facebook. If it helps, I stayed in contact with Marley the most. I know it’s okay to be ambitious, but I really shouldn’t have left like I did. And I know you said it’s cool, but it’s not. But I’ll stop talking about it now. The letters? Did you read all of them?

Rachel: As much as I'd love to believe he's referring to his chia pets (they're a novelty item and quite cute, and I think if he invested his time into gardening it'd be a far more productive way for him to express his anger) we always have to assume the worst.

Rachel: Look, I hate Syria. She's put us through hell and I will always view her as an enemy because of our past. But she's helping us now and we have to accept that she's a part of the team. I know that I'm grateful for the information she shares with us, even though she's still working with him. And give a little more credit. Maybe she doesn't want to jump the gun and worry us over nothing. Then we need to tell the others. Can you ask Syria to notify us when she's done creating it? There's nothing we can do about it until then.

Puck: No way, those things are creepy. That's what makes 'em the perfect plant for Devone. But I did see one for President Barack Brobama and Abroham Lincoln that looked pretty sweet.

This is probably gonna be a short journal cause I need to get back to spying on my dad. Speaking of spying, can you believe that asshole was snooping around my stuff? Not sure what he was looking for cause he lied when I confronted him about it, but it's super suspicious. Finn asked if he knew about me being a Ranger, but I dunno. How could he know something like that? I think I've done a pretty good job of keeping it a secret. Well, except not from Quinn. Or Rose. Or Liam now, I guess? Shit. I'm thinking maybe I should talk to somebody about this.

At first I thought Finn had been being really un-bro like lately and that all the toxic fumes from the sewer messed with his brain or something. But I guess when I think about it, he's actually not been so bad. I think I was just kinda pissed cause he was sticking his nose into my business, but like he said. He's my bro so it's kind of his job. He thinks that I'm letting Quinn make all of my choices for me and that I should take some more time to think about what I wanna do and stuff. And I guess he's right, but what if I do that and decide that I wanna stay here, or go to Miami, or Nashville or wherever? Quinn's gonna be in New York. That much is a fact and I don't know if I can survive being apart from her again. 

I've been kinda selfish lately though. Only thinking about me and Quinn, and my shady father instead of the stuff that's really important. My family. I can't leave them; especially not when my dad is still around. What if he splits again and I'm not around to pick up the pieces this time? Sarah is gonna be crushed and my ma... Let's just say Sarah's gonna need somebody to take care of her cause my ma won't be able to. She won't even be able to take care of herself. They need me and I'd never forgive myself if I left them alone with him. Thinking about stuff is hard. No wonder I never did this sooner. Also, Finn sucks for making me think about stuff before I actually do it. Doesn't he know I live for impulsivity?

Me and Quinn are... Something. I think. Is it bad that I still don't know what's going on? She wrote me a bunch of letters while she was in France, which is cool because I totally thought she'd forgotten about me over there. Basically, she told me she loves me and that she trusts me with her heart. (Totally cheesy, I know, but I thought it was kinda cute.) She gave me a key and it's supposed to symbolize like eternal love, which seems really heavy and probably would've freaked me out awhile ago, but it didn't even faze me. And I think it's because I'm so in love with her that not being with her freaks me out more than anything. And that makes this whole thing so much harder. I wanna be around my family, but I also don't wanna have to take a goddamn vacation every time I wanna see my girl. Maybe I can convince my ma to relocate to NY? Brb gonna go do that now.

Wait, before I do I've gotta talk about one more thing. Fucking Devone. This dude is seriously becoming a thorn in my ass, or however that saying goes. Just when you think you're in the clear and can have a break from all of his crazy, he goes and does something even crazier. Syria says that he wants her to make some kinda serum that melts your frontal lobe. Still not too sure what that means, but I know it's not good. Only a few of us know, so we're trying to figure out what to do about it. Hopefully the next time I write in this I'm not totally brain dead.

Rachel: As much as I hate to say it, Quinn is right. We need Syria whether we like her or not.

Rachel: I don't think we should tell them. At least not Dr. Oliver. He's still very stressed out and upset over Brittany and Finn disappearing for weeks. We should give him time to decompress.

Puck: You guys suck. We don't know enough info about this whole thing to go around telling people about it anyway. I say we keep it quiet until we learn more about it.

Flemish waffles, Puck. It was Brittany’s gift from Paris and besides, I already told you that I’d find a recipe and make it for you, and I will as soon as I get my hands on a waffle iron. Everyone cares about facts, otherwise we’d all just go around believing ridiculous and dangerous think. Well, you could keep an open mind about trying new things. As long as they are within your religious constructs, of course. 

I know, and I’m sorry. It wasn’t about you, though, I promise. Well, that was my problem. I was so concerned with college and the whole journalism thing that I blew everybody off. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad I went. I just felt kind of bad about how gracelessly I left, and how I was too busy to keep in touch like I should’ve. It’s kind of like how my dad is, you know? With how his work always comes first? And I was kind of mad at myself for being like him.
