After playing a game like doki doki literature club, I feel like it’s very important for me to say that constantly giving a depressed person a little bit too much attention is sometimes not exactly what they want or need, because they don’t want to experience the feeling of being a burden to someone. I can easily relate with how sayori feels, and even though it’s all rigged by monika. The message is still there and very much real.

Koizumi gripped the door handle of the vehicle, leaving the door wide open behind her. "I see! It’s good to have met someone else that feels the same way as me then!” The girl said with an enthusiastic response in her voice, it’s rare for her to meet someone that she is able to relate on certain things with. It was most definitely a refresher while she let out a slight giggle. “Haha, Aw..! come on Maki! I’m certain that there must be one little thing interesting about you somewhere, would you like to discuss it on the road? It’ll take about fifteen minutes for us to get there by car!” st

The most brightest of smiles was present on the girl’s face, eager to learn about new people in which she meets. She also showed a lot of eagerness and curiosity, as she began to form the question. “So... Maki-chan! What are your current interests and most favorite things to do in Japan? Do you like hanging out at sushi bars? or maybe those little shops that have weaponry? because I have experience in that field! despite being a crime scene photographer..” 

She hurriedly got in the car, then sat down and put on her seat belt while the lights on the vehicle flashed in a red circular color pattern automatically. “I’ll introduce you to my best friend Kirigiri when I spot her! I promise you that..! You’ll like her too, I can guarantee that.. Now come on it and sit!”  A simple revving of the vehicle’s engine showed that she was ready to go as she held onto the steering wheel and gearshift. 

“Now, let’s talk a little bit about you! if you don’t mind at the very least” Her fingers began to fiddle around on the car’s dashboard, turning on the radio to a comforting music station that only had piano music. A familiar tune began to play, it was the song “Clair De Lune” being played by a famous blonde haired pianist that Koizumi didn’t really know the name of. 

“Ah! I haven’t heard this wonderful piece in forever.. I wish I knew who it was that played it.. because they are so talented...” It was clear that she accidentally got off-topic fast, she immediately realized this and snapped her head to look back at Maki. “oh my gosh, I’m so sorry! weren’t we supposed to talk about you? please forgive me!”

Well.. it was definitely a surprise for her to hear about someone else getting their talent purely based off the use of “luck” again, but it also didn’t shock the photographer either. As she knew two people who also have their own talents being related with luckiness, although she wouldn’t necessarily call them as lucky as they would like to be. They were just normal people who were given a chance at life. “You’re serious? so you’re not kidding about him at all.. he really did get his talent based on the outcome of luck alone..? He wouldn’t be the first person I know to have such a thing happen then! I personally feel like your friend Saihara would be intimidated by Kirigiri’s presence” 

She took back her camera in a slow motion and strung it around her neck, letting it simply hang around her chest safely without worry. Koizumi took a few steps towards the door of her apartment, opening it carefully as it was an old door that could make the sound of a single loud creak. “You and I, we should discuss little tidbits about us more sometime soon after a tour of the offices! I’d love to know at least something about you, Harukawa-chan.. you seem like an interesting person to be around! And I hope that we can further develop our new relationship as friends.. Now let’s go!” 

She walked outside the door and waited for her guest to come with her as she had a car out front, but it wasn’t any regular vehicle. It was a police vehicle that simply looked like your normal average car, except that she does not have the ability to pull anyone over. It is only a response vehicle for visiting crime scenes. 

“Hey Maki, it’s possible that Kirigiri could be there working right now! so it you see her, don’t be afraid to say hi! Although you seem like the type of person who is awfully reserved and quiet..”

Disregarding the sudden embarrassing behavior change, the photographer quickly regained her composure. "Ah! my apologies! did I worry you a bit by handing you my camera to hold? you don’t seem like the type of individual to drop something to easily, so yes! you can hold onto it and scroll through each single photo taken by me!” Koizumi immediately let her grip away from the small device, with the most genuine smile that she ever had on her face. It felt nice to be appreciated by someone else other than her best friend Kirigiri, to see that another person acknowledged her own hobby was a feeling that couldn’t be beat. 

“Her and I.. we surprisingly manage to get along with each other well! despite that she talks in a more serious tone, and I use a more light-hearted tone of voice when I’m around her. I heavily admire Kirigiri for her persistence and control when in the midst of a crime scene, if you’d like to know more about her! I’d love to show you around our work place sometime later!” 

It seems like the red-headed girl could run on and on for ages about her well-ranked friend in the force, it’s as if she was thinking of them as a person to be idolized.. but no one fully knows that in the city in which she currently lives in. The detective is her only friend, while others have left to move on with their lives. 

“Hey Harukawa-chan.. since you’ve mentioned it.. I’m growing curious, how did your friend manage to get his detective title? You said that he could learn a lot from someone like her, why do you say that?”

With her hands gripped tight, she tried to maintain her composure and not become mean-spirited like how she used to be. "I have to apologize for my sudden change of tone in my earlier words, I was remembering things that I didn’t want to and it consumed me temporarily. I know that my hobby isn’t as worthless as I tend to think sometimes. I didn’t mean to shoot down your curiosity at all, so here.. I trust you with this..”

In a slow and delicate motion, she placed her trusted camera in the other girl’s hands while putting away the picture frame of the duo. Her own life and blood was kept sacred inside such a small thing, but she knew that her new friend could be trusted. She pressed the buttons that went from picture to another, and in it were more pictures of her and Kirigiri casually working together. “Please do tell me more about your friend Shuichi while you look at these photos, he sounds like an interesting person to meet sometime! We could all have a dinner date-” 

Flustered, she had took look away for a second. It is implied that she also liked her detective friend, but had really wanted to keep that a secret. “Alright.. so you were also wondering about Kirigiri, and if she doubts herself?” Koizumi switched to another topic, to avoid talking about what she had mentioned previously. “The answer is no! she displays the highest level of confidence that I have ever seen in a person, she can answer just about anything without having to go over everything again! Kirigiri is viewed as the most respected detective in the whole force, having a police rank of number one.. which is still impressive to this day..”

Intrigued by the other’s words of mentioning another detective, she had also known someone that was a detective. Is it possible that she has crossed paths with him, but did not realize it? In a truly small world like this, anything can happen at a moment’s notice. The photographer was then hard in thought, the hyper and exciting in which she just had was gone. It’s not much to be concerned about though, maybe. Koizumi’s eyes had begun a swirling pattern as she sat down and talked, with her arms and legs crossed in a familiar pose. 

“I’m fully aware of the fact that this is a heavily cruel world in which we live in, nothing is joyous about this despairing life that we’ve been roped into. I know that our world doesn’t have good moments, sometimes I think that I have a worthless hobby.. but then I think about my mother, who is no longer here with me..” 

She regained her normal self back, as she confusingly shook her head. “It sounds like you’re not a fan of taking pictures with others, aka selfies! I’m sorry! I shouldn’t have forced it upon you like that Harukawa-chan!.. Anyhow.. who is this detective friend that you were referring to? As I know someone who is one also!” 

Koizumi, being all bubbly and excited once again, had walked towards the kitchen and grabbed a picture that was delicately framed and covered in plastic wrap. Meaning that it held a special amount of significance to the girl. “Here is a picture of us spending time with each other in a police car! her name is Kyouko Kirigiri, and she is my best friend that I love dearly! I would sacrifice my life for her, although I don’t expect to be doing that anytime soon haha!”

What’s this? she was surprised to hear someone acknowledge the girl who her natural talent in photography, because it had been quite the long while since anyone has talked about it with her, and with just those words from the stranger. The photographer’s face lit up like a christmas tree, her demeanor switching from “Tired” to “Excited” in only a matter of seconds, as her entire life revolved around one camera that she has used for years! which is still running to this day, from the time that she had received it from her mother as a child. 

“Ah! don’t worry too much about the gaming system there! I can play it at anytime! let’s talk more about photography! Anyways, yes! I specifically only take those kinds of pictures, because what I believe is that there is nothing else more important than people being happy and having a good time! It makes for a really good picture..” 

She made a space for the other to sit by shoving things into an old clothes basket, and then some. “So hey! how did you hear about me? I’m not as popular as you think, so it really surprised me that I was mentioned somewhere? All I do is work for a police department as a crime scene photographer, and taking photos is only a hobby of mine.. ooh wait! I’m sorry for running my mouth so much, how rude of me.. It’s nice to meet you, Harukawa-chan!”

In a swift motion, she pulled up a chair for Maki to sit on. “Make yourself feel at home! you’re also more than welcome to spend the night if you’d like! And we could take selfies together! That would be cool, wouldn’t you think?!”

{ ♥ }; It was the photographer’s day off from working at the precinct as she was sitting back and relaxing on her couch, it was her time to act all care free and not having to worry about going outside. The crimson headed girl was able to do anything she wanted, like sleep all day or play her favorite video game that she had gotten as a present this year from her good friend Nanami. She had nearly put in the game cartridge in her game system, until she heard a knock on the door. 

“Huh? Who could this be? I thought that Kirigiri didn’t get off work until three..” Koizumi was armed and vigilant, she went to go look at her video camera. It was a stranger with dark red eyes with a sailor like red uniform, her hands slowly opened the door for the unknown visitor.. only leaving a small gap between the two. 

“.. May I ask who you are? And how did you find me?” Koizumi’s eyes scanned the girl with quick precision, and then opened the door wide. “You seem trusting.. so please come on in.. I apologize for the mess around the place though..”

Koizumi’s 2018 Game Plan

-{ ✖ }- In this current life that we all lead, I've come up with a plan! All of us will sneak outside while they sleep. We'll have to come clean and start over. And then when we're gone, we'll stay gone! out of sight, out of mind. It's not too late.. because we still have the rest of our lives next year, everything that was known us about this year will no longer exist in people’s minds.

I will not back down, nor run and hide from it all.. because that’s just what they want from us if you think about it!.. That's why we have to stick to our game plans, ultimately.  

“Are you going to wait here for a sign to let you know?  Are you going to sit there paralyzed by what you've seen?  Is this more than you expected it to be? Do not just wait for a miracle to simply tumble from the sky, you have to make it happen yourself.. As we are the miracle in life itself”

"I really don't understand the big deal here at all, making all these new years resolutions before the current year ends hadn’t seemed to change much for me. As I’ve been doing them for the past few years, the one thing that I have learned over the past few years is that I can never fully change myself as a person despite all of my efforts trying such” 

The photographer, who is now all grown up, had reflected upon herself and thought about past memories of her former self. 

“Is there really much hope for me when the new year comes around in a matter of days? I hardly spend time with anyone because of my own selfishness of wanting to be alone all the time, is that something in which I should change?” 

She sat down outside of her home, looking up to the beautiful blue skies that were up ahead while taking a deep sigh. “It’s definitely time for a change, and for that to happen.. I have to do something instead of sitting around.. It’s time to call Kirigiri and get the gang back together.. for old good times sake!..”
