Kokichi woke up in a unknown environment, or better said, just not his own room. Though he soon came to realize that this wasn’t the only weird thing that happened overnight. Once he realized he was not inside his own body, he quickly did run to the closest mirror. There he had to realize, that he somehow got inside of Maki Harukawa herself. But how?! And why... This wasn’t even funny, he never wanted to be close too to her, and so surely not... be her. 

If he was inside of her though, that only would mean that... Oh no, he definitely would have to look for her. So he rushed outside, and was already on his way to his own home Lucky enough for him, he didn’t have to ring his own door bell, than Maki... or  better said, his body, was just coming out of his own apartment... It had to be Maki, right? Well, only that would explain why his face would make such a grumpy expression in the first place. 

“Harukawa-chan!~ I suppose that’s you, riight?” Man, his provoking tone he tried to put into his voice, just didn’t have the same effect with the voice of a girl. Truth to be told, there weren’t many things that made him more uncomfortable, than Maki of all people, being in control of his own body. But hey, he had the perfect thing to use to threaten her if she did anything that he didn’t like, and that was her body. Should he blackmail her? It would be an easy thing to do, he could threaten her to cut her long hair or things related to that. Huh, thinking about it now, Maki maybe wasn’t so different from other girls in those aspects. 

“I dunno what really happened, but guess ‘do you want to die’ will be my line now, huh? Nee-heehee, so, how you’re doing so far?~”

Zeno always had a way of sensing when people were troubled. And somehow, he could feel that very strongly from the girl that was passing by him in this very moment, in the middle of the mall. Maybe it was fate for them to talk, then he noticed how something from her head fell to the ground. It was a hairpin...

“Ah, little miss! Wait, You lost something!” Without hesitating, the blonde boy picked the item up and tried to catch up with the short brunette. When he reached her, he handed her the hairpin with a wide smile, relieved to being able to give it back to her. “It would be a shame if you’d lose it, wouldn’t it?” She had such pretty long hair after all, and maybe the accessory had some great importance to her as well. Just as it was with the necklace he was wearing around his head. 

“Sorry, Zeno didn’t mean to stop you, you seemed like you were in a hurry... You’re not in trouble, are you?”

   “Miss Harukawa, fancy meeting you here!” It’s been a while since the last time they saw each other. It was true, that the angel disappeared for a good while from the island, but since she has been here before, it wasn’t too hard to adjust to things here this time. 

   “I was hoping we’d meet again. How have you been?” Last time she saw the brunette, she remembered how they saved some kittens together. However, besides that, the angel didn’t really know a lot about the girl besides her name.

  “That reminds me... Isn’t there still some chatting we have to do? Hmhm, if you’re free, would you like to go to a cafe together?”

Kaede couldn’t remember when the last time was, that she visited a beach. Even before the nightmare of the killing game has happened, she always has been busy with practicing for her piano performances. That didn’t mean she didn’t enjoy it, of course playing was still her favorite thing to do and probably always will be, but even a pianoholic like her, wanted to spend some time outside from time to time. 

She didn’t even really know how she could do it, but somehow, she convinced none other than Maki Harukawa to join her the other day for today as well. Really, it did surprise her that she got her to come along. But she was very excited about it. Experiencing the beach with a friend was way more fun than doing it all alone after all. The blonde just finished setting up their umbrella, when checking up on her friend. 

“Harkawa-san, isn’t it pretty here? What do you want to do first? Should we take a stroll and collect some pretty shells, or do you want to go swimming? Oh, do you maybe need help with the lotion first? I can put some on your back where you don’t reach if you need me to!”

She knew that Maki probably wasn’t as excited as her, but now that she was already here, she wanted to try her very best so she would end up enjoying their time together just as much as she did. Maybe they could even shop for some matching necklaces later in the souvenir shop nearby, too. Yeah, the optimistic girl had already a lot of this planned, so it wouldn’t become a boring day for sure!

It’s early, a brand new day, and while he’s still weak from the fog that had knocked him unconscious two times in a row, he finds himself wandering around the lake with the koi fish that has a similar mist hanging on it. Debunking the mystery of the killer fog isn’t the only reason he’s there, but he doesn’t very well expect to see the very face that crosses his mind lingering near the edge of the shore.

Naturally, he does what any sane, reasonable person experiencing this might do: Kaito rubs at his eyes fiercely, and when she doesn’t vanish, both hands reach out to pull at her cheeks. “Huh! For a fog-induced hallucination, this fake Harumaki feels REAL.”

“Fuee... Oh no, what do I do, what do I do? I got lost again! It happens even more often now that I’m on an unknown island...” disappointed with herself, she decided to look around a little more. Trying to at least recognize something familiar. That was bad, she really had no idea where she ended up this time. Though for some reason, for a while now she was noticing some small cat-like balloons flying around. Were they alive or just very advanced party decorations? 

But then all of the sudden, a black one of those appeared. That was the first one she saw until now. Though, unlike the other ones that avoided her, this one charged towards her and looked very aggressive too. “Eeeek!!!” That was enough of a warning sign for her to start running away as fast as she could. 

“Hiyehh!! Someone please help me!! Some weird animal is attacking meee!”

   She wouldn’t have been offended or bothered if she didn’t receive any presents, but Maki wasn’t particularly surprised to see Kaito approaching her on that day. Red hues widened at the sight of the gift, cheeks turning a slight pink color as she took hold of the gift: “You didn’t need to get me anything, you know. There’s nothing to celebrate.” With that, she slowly opened the gift and tightly gripped onto the candle as it came into light. She brought it close to her face so as to smell it– It did have a nice aroma. “.. Thanks. It’s.. nice.”

Kaito beamed with pride as she accepted his gift, loving the slight pink tint he could see on her cheeks. “Everything’s relative Harumaki. Be it time or your birthday. You may not see a reason to celebrate it but I do.” As he rubbed the back of his neck he gave her a dorky smile. “So? Are you too busy to hang out? We don’t have to do anything too extravagant but I’d hate to let today go to waste.”

It was hard to miss those long pigtails, even from a distance. There was something distinct about Maki’s stance that seemed to make an impression on Rantaro, even before all of... this came to pass. Still, his first reaction to any situation was to react with some degree of skepticism, could it perhaps be another person? The Ultimate Academy consisted of such a unique collection of people beforehand, but it paled in comparison to just how many types of people (and maybe non-human people) this place seemed to have. Plus, it wasn’t looking like he could really gather any more information without some kind of contact. 

“Ah, Harukawa-san?” He hesitated at first, Rantaro hadn’t been on super familiar terms with any of his classmates when he saw them last and he worried a little that there might be some carry over reluctance. Nothing ventured, nothing gained though, right? 

“Sorry, you can ignore me if I’m wrong, but... it’s Harukawa-san, right? You remember me? It’s uh, Amami.”
