Why is selling your soul such a romantic thing?

Like I get "oh no selling your soul to the devil" but that's always come off as a beautifully sensual and loving thing. It's a commitment of sorts, selling my soul only to you.

I think the correlation to like demons and the devil make it even more romantic, like what do you mean this evil thing is either giving me their soul and promising to give me their soul or accepting my gift of love and commitment
