Is your field mouse missing her glasses? Your drawing made it look like she had some. There's a tutorial somewhere about making tiny glasses out there. Search for Sylvanian Families glasses tutorial and you'll find Lady Lollipop's tutorial. I've done it before and the end result is quite nice. I recommend dipping the ends of the glasses into paint and adding a few layers onto it. It makes them look more realistic and helps keep the wire from scratching the flocking.

the babes have arrived! it's been a long day and homegirl is sick, but i am super happy with them!

adelaide (cat) has some more noticable damage, like faded colors and a bit of fur missing from her chest, but genevieve (mouse) seems just a little faded! does anyone have any tips on how to spruce up second-hand critters?

They honestly don’t look too bad to me!  You can clean them with REALLY gentle soap and water (no rubbing!) and dry them off gently and then let air dry. I also know of a lot of people who use Micellar water for more difficult discoloration. Definitely do not ever use harsh cleaning products, alcohol or bleach based cleaners because they will remove the glue holding the flocking together. But they don’t look like they’re dirty to me, just a bit worn.  Color sprucing wise, I know some people who have used fabric markers (or markers that wont bleed colors easily) to touch up ear colors and noses and such. some also use acrylic paint but you have to be super careful not to saturate too much or the flocking will become very stiff.  I know there is a way to re-flock dolls, but I’ve not done it personally.
