One of the reasons why i wished Oliver stayed on MASH isdirectly tied to Klinger. I wish there were more chances for Klinger to explore his culture,i wish there were more chances for Oliver to just exist and be unapologetically black. I wished Klinger got to be more unapologeticalmy arab. Cause those two could of been the perfect duo on the show.

Like,the main storyline that comes to mind. And partially the reason why im posting this. Cause ive been day dreaming about these two in a playfull argument of sorts. Arguing over who's more agile,evolving into arguing who's culture is more known for physically demanding dancing. Confusing eachother by trying to explain what they mean with the limited resources they have. It of course culminates in them watching tapes sent from home to settle the score. With the main take away being that despite having different cultural backgrounds. Both of them share a similar enough experince to know that the jokey argument was them feeling homesick. And the episode ends with either one of them asking if the other wants to watch their tape again.

Which again,this is just one potential episode from the bizzaro world where Oliver stays. But yall get my point. These two could of been best buddies,and even be the dedicated main characters for more side character centric episodes. Yet at the same time with it being the 70's-80's. Imma say it's a blessing that we weren't introduced to the duo,and the white savior storylines that more than likely would surround these two if given more in depth characters. So as i've said before,im kinda glad there's just wnough material for me to play with characters like Oliver paper doll style. Less room for unsavory story beats if im the one crafting them lol.
