Summer of Daverose: Daverose Daisy Chain Interest Check/Proposal

Ok, here's my pitch. Daverose tumblr telephone game, like multimedia co-writing. Probably in August (?)

Start with a couple of prompts (could be voted on in advance). Have people claim a prompt for, say, 24-48 hours, first-come-first-serve.

Claimer then fills the prompt with a scene/vignette that makes sense and progresses from the last fill. Low-pressure stuff like doodles and short writing drabbles, just for a bit of good fun.

Respond to the original post with your fill to prevent claim-posts from cluttering things up.

Probably have some claim rules, e.g. "don't claim 2x in a row. If you've already claimed within 3 claims, wait 12 hours before claiming again. If you fail to fill your claim in the time limit, it's up for grabs again."

So in the above demo, the 3rd claimer (incestLiker1) might continue pushing the plot forward by writing a drabble of an argument, or drawing daverose outside daverezi divorce court, or whatever else.

We can adjust the cooldown claim timers depending on projected participant numbers. I think other media contribs like music or moodboards or whatever else might also be neat to include, depending on interest.

the best fanfiction you've ever read was written by a woman in her 40s before she made dinner for her kids. it was written by a teenager after school when they should've been studying for a history test. and a barista came up with the idea while they cleaned the espresso machine and busser fact-checked it on their break and the post-doc edited between writing grant proposals and the nurse apologized for typos in the notes after a long shift and behind every drabble and one-shot and multi-chapter fic there is a person with a wonderful and interesting and chaotic life and it is such a privilege that we get to be apart of it because they decided to do this thing we all share, for fun.
