Aging - post internet

I struggle to keep life in perspective when I randomly start watching 90s music videos and realize I'm now older than most of the artist were when they created/filmed the content. I now have decades worth of junk filling my brain, and decades more that I wasn't even alive for. Reality has never been more threatened and at this point it won't be less threaten until singularity or the death of the Internet and similar contraptions.

It's seems as though I am the sum of Philosophy

Let me explain... I just watched a handful of YouTube videos about philosophers, philosophers I wish I had studied at any point in my past but was too lazy to do so. I have never bothered to actually study anything about western philosophy, I am usually far too distracted by things in my own life including mostly my own philosophizing. I noticed, when watching these videos, that I have independently philosophized many of the ideas they had. In the true sprit of lazy philosophizing I suppose I should posit that perhaps passively, in the most abstract of ways, I deciphered their ideas in the behavior of my peers and media the of my era. But honestly I am an incredibly introspective and observant (and lonely) person who has the free time necessary to contemplate that which I am able to perceive. Anyway, every time I learn more about how a prior philosopher has already had my idea but bothered to write it down before me (often times decades before me) I feel more like in some cosmic jest that I am the sum of philosophy to date. At least in a mostly western philosophy sense, but not exclusively.

It seems as though karma isn't with me. I hope this isn't an indicator for my future.

What is the secret of humanity?

The world is an unfathomably large celestial body that we, insignificantly tiny as we are, are bound to. The proportion in size of us to the earth has allowed us to achieve great numbers and still have significant separation from each other. This has promoted the ability for us to develop unique cultures.

Cultures around the world and throughout time have been an interest of mine. A way to perhaps hack the secret of humanity. A secret that is not promised to exist, but something that so many obsess over …myself included.

Blah, some voice just commandeered that post… There is a thought in there somewhere, I’m sure. Any hoo.

So I am doing a poor job at using this blog. You should know I’m a very introverted person and this blog is partly how I’m trying to change that behaviour.

P.s. the title deserves more than this post. Perhaps when I find more free time I'll write a more in depth post... More thought out.

An intro

I been thinking over doing an intro post and decided it's appropriate. The base goal of this blog is to post thoughts, so it is very fitting. There are some more rules which are really just abstract guidelines at the moment and aren't fully developed yet, so don't expect uniformity. This is sort of a project I have in my head that is going to be an evolution as I work it out over time. With that I welcome any who should stray to this far secluded edge of the web and ask you to stay tuned. I should work on a disclaimer/description. Do you read disclaimers on blogs or are they a nuisance which are inappropriate or tacky? It would be short I'm sure but if no one cares then I'll save my time.
