THAT'S RIGHT MY FELLOW SHINRANLINGS

somehow my brainrot has led me to this point... it's only the first day but this took me like 8 hours to make. I want to strangle krita's animation curves and i'm sure that my laptop would like to strangle me as well :). After making this i almost immediately burnt out so do not expect this level of effort from me ever again.

i'm gonna gas myself up but like i am quite proud of this one even if you can tell i was running out of steam at the end. I particularly like the first part with all the shadow thingies or whatever. Also ran in the tropical land outfit is just way too cute i love her.

Is it just me, or is it plausible to think that one of the main reasons Shinichi doesn't want Ran to know he's Conan (other than the obvious "lying and gaslighting for months" thing) is because he's terrified of her looking at Conan and KNOWING for sure it's him? That the little kid nobody takes seriously is actually him?

But for ego reasons. Self-worth reasons. "Ran seeing him as an equal" reasons.

In his mind he's maybe thinking "I'll tell her once I get the antidote and I'm back to normal" because her knowing that Shinichi is a tiny lil kiddo, and him being around her as she knows that, is one bridge too far for his poor ego which has been so battered over the course of the series.

Like, her looking at him, and knowing 100% for sure that "oh, that kid is my boyfriend, technically" and "Shinichi is, for the foreseeable future, just a tiny lil gremlin that is weak and goes to elementary school and nobody listens to" and him knowing that those are BAD THOUGHTS FOR RAN TO HAVE. And to want to prevent her from ever having to think them.

Hence not telling her. So she can find out afterwards and she'll never have to look at him and see all that's left of him, which is someone, something who is (without an antidote) very clearly NOT boyfriend material.

(Why would she even bother sticking around if she knew? -Shinichi, maybe, idk)

Hence the lying. Idk. It made sense in my head
