Hello! Sorry for the absurd hiatus, school really ramped up for me and I couldn't keep up with posting on my socials. But now that most of my classes are done, I hope to get back into posting! I have been still making art, so I'll make some catch up posts featuring what I made. (It won't be a lot, the past two years was a struggle for my art and I don't like most of what I made sob) Also, I changed my URL from goth-moth to moth-eyes, just to clear up any confusion!

But yeah, expect more creatures and guys soon!

I'm impressed by your patience with the fur detailing on your sculptures. It's a really clever way to do fur and fluff with clay, and I can only imagine how long it takes to get each strand positioned correctly without letting them clump together

Its probably the most time consuming part of my sculptures, so it takes a while to do! I haven't timed my process before, but it typically takes one day's worth of work

And yea.. Trying to position them properly and avoiding clumping is also a big reason why it's so time consuming lmao

hi i just discovered your little creations and i love them so much!! if you don’t mind me asking - what kind of wire do you use to help pose/shape the base?

For my sculptures, I use 20 gauge (.88 mm) galvanized steel wire, and I twist two pieces together to make a stronger base! I use an electric drill to twist them together, but twisting them by hand works just fine! I get this wire at any hardware store.

For my art dolls, I use 1mm aluminum wire, as it's way more easy to bend and can handle being bent multiple times, but I don't recommend it for sculpting as it's way too bendy to hold its shape.

I tried to make my first scene! This was made as a school project, and i ran out of time because I made too many figures, so they ended up unpainted in the final product lmao. I eventually painted most of these guys, and I'll post some of them soon!

I'm conflicted on this piece tbh- there's a LOT that I would change and a lot that I don't like about it, but idk, it was just such a fun process that I want to post about it anyway

Hello! Just another small update!

While school has been going great, it's taken up pretty much all of my time. This semester has been the busiest I've ever been, and I've had virtually no free time! I've also been dealing with burnout because of it, which I'm finally starting to recover from during winter break.

I've been told this next semester will be lighter on the workload, and I won't have an extra studio class like last time, so hopefully I'll have time to keep up with posting!

With that being said, I have some new work that I'll be posting here soon. c:< Honestly, I'm not really proud of the majority of the art that I've made this semester, so I'm hoping the next one will be different. But I'll post the stuff that I ended up kind of enjoying, and I'll try not to be too picky with what I show.

I also want to start experimenting a lot more with my art- like branching out to make scenery, humans, and work with other media. So I hope y'all don't mind once I start to post different stuff!

Hello! Just a quick update- I won't be able to post much because I'm currently moving! I'm moving up to a transfer school to finish my degree, so I'll be on my own for a bit and I'm very excited >:]

Once everything's settled, hopefully I'll be able to sculpt in between then and when school starts, but we'll see

Yo, your stuff kicks ass and i was wondering if you could detail how you do your gradients when you paint? I do model painting and was just wondering what technique you use. Thank you for making such cool stuff!

AAa thank you!! And WOAH model painting is so cool :o

I use a dry brush technique! So basically, you load a dry brush with paint, and brush the excess onto scrap paper until it only leaves behind a small/faint amount. When you brush the figure with this, the paint will slowly build up and create a nice airbrush/gradient look. I use a rapid back-and-forth brushing motion while I do this!

I mix 2-3 or so colors in between the two colors I'm making a gradient of, which I build up with the dry brush for a smooth gradient. This can take a while, but I find it worth it in the end :]

For the bodies of my creatures, I paint over the entire body with the darkest color, and then dry brush the lighter colors on top, going from darkest to light. This really helps details/patterns to pop!

Hi I just wanted to say I love your little clay black fox sculpture!! The way it’s shaped and posed reminds me of my weird little dog tbh. It is tragically outside of my budget to purchase but i still wanted to say i love it!
