This article is about the Texan outlaw gang. For other uses of Mother Mercy Gang, see Mother Mercy (film) and The Infamous Mother Mercy Gang: Without a Trace (book).
The Mother Mercy Gang was a communist outlaw group primarily operating out of varying hideouts on Emory Peak near Terlingua, Texas. They are thought to have been led by Treacle Whitlock until his sudden and mysterious disappearance in the late 1860s, whereafter his closest friend Sweetie Abrahams took over. The group were among the most notorious outlaws in the old west and are credited with many crimes, including the politically motivated assassination of influential prospector G.H. Stanton.

“ i noticed you, that’s all. “
“ when you talk, i wonder whether you lie or tell the truth. “
“ i lie. and i tell the truth. “
“ i have doubtful morals, you know. “
“ madness is like intelligence, you know. you can’t explain it. “
“ were you full of hate? “
“ i was mad with hate. all i cared about was hate. “
“ it’s all over. “
“ you give me a great desire to love. “
“ i hate to think about you leaving. i think i love you. “
“ how is it possible to bear such pain? “
“ i loved blood since i had tasted yours. “
“ i think of you, but i don’t talk about it anymore. “
“ i see my life. your death. “
“ i’m beginning to forget you. “
“ the pain, i still remember the pain a little. “
“ i remember. but one day i won’t remember it any more. not at all. nothing. “
“ look how i’m forgetting you… look how i’ve forgotten you. “
“ look at me. “
“ i was hungry. hungry for infidelity, for adultery, for lies. hungry to die. “
“ i was hungry to die. i always have been. “
“ we’re going to remain alone, my love. “
