Getting back into the swing of things.

My old high school pal Haley was my photographer on my wedding day (along with her husband Ezekiel) and boy did she do a good job. What a pleasure. She’s written about it over on her new website. 

I like how strong I look in this one. That’s the woman I want to be. That’s the strength I want to have. I feel strong looking at it.

Yesterday I put up the pre-order to my newest tape/photo zine package with the idea of just doing thirty and it sold out in the first few hours. I know it’s not really that big a deal, but doing this extremely personal release without the hope label bros, management, blogs I don’t even read or really any kind of marketing strategy has made me feel for the first time in the five years I’ve been doing this that I’m where I want to be (and to have people respond to that so warmly is really touching).

This is by far the most exposed thing I’ve ever completed after what has been the most challenging couple of years of my life so far, but I’m finally feeling quite good about it.

After I finished vomitting, I decided instead of posting an angry 'y u promo music that doesnt fit my particular tastes' tweet, maybe I should actually make a list of my own, for any non-australians out there genuinely interested in music from the deep south.

I'm not a massive fan, but damn this girl's talented, she's also worked hard over the years and deserves all due credit.

They've kept us waiting long enough....stunningly beautiful lofi indie pop.

Bon Chat, Bon Rat - Escapism EP (Independent)

One of my favourite australian bands, perfect blend of melody, experimentation and creativity.

Bare Grillz - Friends

Sweet sweet noisy, modern punk.

Hugo Frederick - Skin EP (Plastic World)

Get on this quick, tight sampling and some of the smoothest beats out there.

Kate Martin

Amazingly talented, singer songwriter, with some of the most infectious melodies you will hear.

Rainbow Chan - Long Vacation Remixes (Silo Arts & Records)

Killer voice, sweetest loops and badass beats, a total multi-instrumental genius.

Swoony, loopy, super dreamy goodness.
