I’m convinced that Will’s art has great importance to it in general.

The kid drew a picture of a prisoner who highly resembles Hopper before anyone knew he was still alive. It even shows someone helping to break his leg shackle, which is how he initially escapes. It’s not like it was a clue for the audience since it was hard to spot, and it was already revealed to the audience that Hopper was alive in a Russian prison camp in the first teaser.

Will is a Divination Wizard/Knowledge Cleric. He’s able to glimpse the future, and this knowledge often serves as inspiration for his art and perhaps other things, such as his D&D campaign.

NOW HERE IS THE KICKER..... Vecna

Vecna's presence ALSO just makes lights burn brighter. To bright they explode when he uses his "spell". There is still some pulsing though, but not as much as the Demogorgon or Demodogs. The lights never turn on and off, just glow brighter and dimmer slowly, like when a person is in the Upside Down.
