1995 Warner Bros Studio Store Pinky and the Brain plush slippers
(insta post here)
which one was the hardest to get your hands on? (rare, sold out, etc)
aaaannd your favorite piece? :o)
aside from the cels since they’re all essentially one-of-a-kind, i think this Brain statue might be considered one of the rarest? since apparently they were only given out as service awards to certain Warner Bros Studio Store employees and thus there were only a limited amount made. I’ve only ever seen like two pop up, one of which is mine now lol
imagine working for a wb studio store for 20 years and instead of a bonus they give you a statue of this little gremlin mouse freak. I’d quit on the spot. (/j lol)
As for my favorite, it’s def “The Real Life” cel that I got signed by their VAs which i just posted about lol
What’s the most expensive thing you have?
BY FAR this animation cel from the og ep “The Real Life” hahaa hand painted cels are a dead medium so surviving pieces are now big collector’s items and will usually go for a pretty penny.
THIS CEL tho is kind of a funny story because I remember posting a screencap of this exact frame on discord one time because it was one of my faves and I LITERALLY SAID offhandedly something along the lines of “i wonder if the cel of this still exists, I would totally splurge on it” AND NO LIE like a week or so later by some divine intervention this EXACT CEL popped up for sale on an online shop for WB animation art??? The timing of it was absolutely insane lmaoo but yeah it was clearly DESTINY so I immediately burned a hole in my pocket and splurged on it like I said I would and now it is mine forever and ever and i also went to a con and got it signed by rob and moe and it is perfect and amazing the end
also here’s my old “redraw” of it from ages ago that’s still somewhere in the depths of acmelab i’m sure

‘97 Pinky and the Brain Dakin plushies.
(insta post here)
I actually own these exact same plushies and there are a few interesting details I noticed on yours as well as my own:
The "tush tag" (Beanie Babies terminology hehe) on your Brain plushie is actually a different company. It says "Applause" which is actually another plush making company that made plush for Tiny Toon Adventures (maybe Animaniacs too idk). My plushies (both my Pinky and Brain) also have this, but strangely I have seen plushies that have a Dakin "tush tag" on them too (which appears to be on your Pinky plushie). The regular tag is also Dakin on both of the plushies. Maybe Dakin released plushies for the mice but Applause produced them? Because the ones with the Dakin "tush tag" look slightly different than the ones with Applause tags. I don't know how this happened or what it means; it's a mystery.
The larger tag for Pinky that you have contains that description in the tag, but the ones I have, which are pretty much the exact same, don't have the little blurbs. Idk if it has something to do with the possible different manufacturers or what.
I noticed that a while back too because both companies appeared to have the same address on the tags (and despite Brain’s bum tag and ear tag saying “Applause,” the front of the ear tag still uses the original graphic with the Animaniacs logo that’s on Pinky’s tag and retains the Dakin logo in the corner). It turns out that Applause and Dakin were separate entities at one point until Applause acquired Dakin in late 1995. That leads me to believe that the Pinky plush is slightly older and made in earlier ‘95 before the acquisition, while Brain was made in later ‘95 after Applause took over. Thus (most) of his tags have been changed to reflect the switch.
Applause doesn’t exist anymore but there’s a brief history of it on its Wikipedia page. Ironically for a toy company, its history is actually really, really dark. Be prepared, it def threw me for a loop. 😭
