i myself am a disabled artist with severe degenerative chronic pain in my hands and wrists. i struggle a lot with creating and putting out art due to the immense pain im in and the increasing loss of function in my hands. but i love drawing and i want to keep drawing for as long as i can until my hands give out. more effort and passion goes into my art than you could ever know. i cherish all the support i receive even if its small

i cant say im totally confident in how this design came out, but i drew it so i might as well post it. transmasc Noelle dark world design! (*i am not a character designer*)

-when i made this, my first question was, "how do i express alternative rebellious fashion in a fantasy setting?" and my mind instantly settled on the thief theming. it loses all its angel symbolism, but that might be a positive? since its showing Noelle moving away from this conservative religious belief of gender

-my intention was to invoke the idea of Noelle's canon design, but more as a foil/contrast than a direct translation. hence the black and blue instead of white and blue

-like with my light world transmasc Noelle design, i wanted the clothes to be light and freeing, but i also wanted to keep the flowy nature of the og with the cape and the skirt

-i couldnt really change his fur color, but since his hair is bleached in his LW design, i wanted to change it here as well. originally it was going to be black and white, but i think the pink goes better with the other colors

-i tried to work yellow into the design, but it didnt really fit anywhere

doing his hair

i said i was gonna redesign my transmasc Noelle design, but i only changed like two or three details…

some design notes

i decided Noelle's alternative style that is hinted at would be scenemo since i think its very fitting to his personality and the references to dark makeup and gir (but my original design did not have scenemo hair for some reason so i fixed that…)

his hair is bleached

Noelle's design in game is very warm (both in color and style, with the long sleeves, sweater vest, and all the layers). i decided to go for much lighter more casual clothes as a contrast. the bulky layers also make her look more closed off and protective, so the lighter outfit is meant to show how hes more comfortable expressing himself now

i debated for a long while whether id opt for a blue or red color palette. i eventually decided on blue to contrast the warm colors Noelle wears in canon

you can in fact paint deer's antlers! i thought itd be a fun inclusion. plus my dessign has blue antlers, so id like to think of it as Noelle incorporating some of his memory of Dess into his style

the bracelets are a reference to the trans pride flag (obviously) and a bracelet that i always draw Dess wearing. i like to think they had matching friendship bracelets

i honestly do feel bad that i physically cant get any new art out because of my disability… and like, my art blog gets comically low visibility anyway, but i still feel bad… everyone else is making such cool and fun art based on the new chapter and im stuck here like a sitting duck because of a flare up. i really really really hate being disabled
