splashtail has always read to me like a middle-class kid who doesnt know anything about how the world works no matter how much he pretends to. and hed get upset if his parents ever said anything like that to his face but its true. hes selfish and detached and a little bit cruel hes naive and he doesnt know what hes doing. hes no revolutionary. he doesnt even know what it is he wants or why but he knows hes supposed to want it. he thinks youre wrong and he thinks hes right but he cannot tell you why. he cant hide a body. he doesnt know what to do with the body. the only reason he got as far as he did was because he told people what they wanted to hear. he knows how to use words to get people to do what he wants. and frankly he doesnt even seem to be great at that. he thinks hes above others because hes realized the truth about whats wrong with the world and believes hes saving his clanmates by doing what needs to be done but hes in over his head and hell never admit it to anyone let alone himself. but he knows

he is capable of caring about people of course he is hes doing this for his clan he cares about them all but splashtail is always going to protect himself first. curlfeather was in the way frostpaw was in the way harelight was in the way he cant afford to take any chances. he cant make any more mistakes. hes restless and paranoid and cant help but wonder if any of this would have happened if curlfeather had lived but he pushes that thought somewhere far away and ignores the twist in his gut
