What do you do when a person makes you feel like a wreck?
I post way too many photos of this beach, but its pretty and calming.
I fell in love with who I thought you were and I think you wanted to be that person too. But you didn’t want to put in the effort to be that person. I fell in love with pretending, storytelling, and fantasizing. When we became real it wasn’t fun for you anymore…or maybe it was too much work. Or maybe, I let you think you didn’t have to do anything to keep me. I was so happy to be yours I didn’t realize I let you barely be there. I was completely yours and you were barely mine, till one day you left and I was bare.
-Waking Up
Something is different this time.
Normally interest and searches about gun control and shooting tragedy drop off pretty fast after the initial rush of horror.
Parkland isn’t following the norm. It’s still an issue. CNN did a Town Hall. It’s still receiving news coverage.
Students are raising their voices and being heard. They aren’t just yelling or mourning. They are advocating for desperately needed change.
Tumblr is predominantly American students. Please, raise your voice on this, and support your friends when they do the same. We don’t know how long this will last, but for the moment, the country is listening. Use it.
They want to hear your stories.
You grew up under constant threat of this happening in your school. You had drills. You practiced, and you probably thought about what you’d do if it happened to you, what you’d say afterwards.
My generation saw the change, yours has never known different and you deserve better than to be taught how to slow down a shooter to minimize the total body count.
Write letters, record videos, speak out. Facebook, Tumblr, Youtube, Twitter, Instagram, wherever you have a microphone, you can speak. But, if you’re comfortable, try to reach an older audience than social media gets you.
Want to Write an Op-Ed? Do it.
Don’t be intimidated, it’s not that different than writing a post on Tumblr, and is shorter than your homework. Most have to be under 750 words. Be sincere. Have someone proofread it. Then? Submit it.
Don’t know where?
Here’s some major papers and news groups:
LA Times.
USA Today
New York Times
Boston Herald
Dallas Morning News
Houston Chronicle
Denver Post
Seattle Times
Miami Herald
The Hill
Rachel Maddow
CNN
NPR - All Things Considered
NPR - Morning Edition
Find your local paper if that’s more your style. Search the name of any paper plus ‘op-ed submission’ or ‘letter to the editor submission’
Public statements not your thing? Write something and send it to your Congressional Rep. Go big: Send one to your Senator.
Want to be more likely you get an answer? Contact your Governor. Or, your State legislators. Contact your mayor. Contact anyone that might be able to do something.
Students today are standing up and doing what no one else has managed; it is brilliant, it is inspiring, it is humbling, and I hope you keep going.
You can change the country, you can change the world, but you have to keep standing up, and speaking out.
It’s time to stop fucking around and make a change.
I’m too fucking old for games. If you think I’m cute, tell me. If you wanna kiss my neck, do it. If you like me, act like it. I don’t have time for bullshit and mind games. I’m down for you and you only but don’t manipulate me.
I can not stand an inconsistent man who claims he’s really digging me or whatever. Grow the fuck up. Show up. Make your presence desired.
I’m so mad because this worked

I need you Roger!
Roger’s back. Sorry guys. Gotta reblog Roger.
Worth a shot
Someone give this man a megaphone.
Reblog the hell out of this - please. Even those of you who are not in the US. You have Us followers and this is obscene.
Relationships
Leading someone on and then dropping off the face of the earth is rude.
Joe Biden has a message for fraternity guys
If you don’t stop your brother from raping a girl, you are an accomplice
NOT IN MY HOUSE JACK
I REBLOG THIS EVERY SINGLE TIME. I have a lot of white supremacist women hating blogs sniffing around my blog at the moment. This is a reminder to them: You rape someone, that doesn’t make you a God. It makes you a felon. It doesn’t make you strong, it makes you pathetic. The more you have to demand superiority, the more.you are showing that you don’t deserve it.
A beautiful and calm place to go when you need to think or be alone
College
Okay, here’s somethings I’ve learned so far sophomore year.
1. School events can be fun and a majority of them are free, but people skip them thinking they are boring.
2. Homework on a Saturday, the library is a good place to go since most people save homework for Sundays.
3. Roommates are great, even if they ignore.
4. It’s hard to make friends if your focused on school first then on having fun. But that’s okay since you have a goal that you are working towards.
5. It’s okay to stay on campus, because chances are you won't spend a ton of money and can save up for future outings.
6. It’s okay to not have a clue what you want to do in the future. There are people in the same boat as you and people that are there to help you.
7. Start looking at the career center early. They will see you trying and will help you with your next steps whether it be resume’s, internships, summer jobs or general questions about different industries.
8. ITS OKAY TO BE SINGLE!!!! Not everyone is ready to date or have sex and that’s OKAY. If you have friends that bother you about those things tell them to fuck off. Your sense of being and respect for yourself is more important than what others think of you.
9. If you like hanging out in your room, that great and okay as long as you still go out and be social. It’s your space too, and you can be there if you choose.
10. Keep your head up. If your struggling, you’ll get past this rough patch. Remember your mental health is important and there are people at school to help you during these times. Seek them out and if you don't know how, try talking to a favorite professor or a trusted friend. They will do their best to help you.
Not having a ton of friends is okay. It just means you’re still trying to figure out where you fit in. Keep moving forward, life just beginning and there are other things to discover along the way.
Some days I wonder how I got my self into these fucking situations.
We lost the Daily Show and the Colbert Report at the WORST possible time…
