This is a blog where I draw desna (and Eska). maybe i'll make short comics or something, i'm here to fill in all the lack of desna art. He needs more appreciation.
I was so curious how'd they look older and I got carried away. I have seen drawings where Desna stops having bangs when he's old but I wonder if he'd do that, I could see him doing it for eternity just cause someone told him to grow it out one time.
This was fun, always wanted to draw Desna brushing Taka's hair. Morning routine type thing. I had a hard time deciding what outfit to give her so I had to go on a whole adventure outside this work and made a concept for her. I put it below the cut cause I just think its such a cute dress! I also put the background cause I'm quite proud of it. I usually struggle with backgrounds but I feel like I'm getting the hang of it
I want to note that her eyes are a lil too big in these pics. Woopsie, only just noticed that.
Background was fun, see the little penguins? That's Taka's favorite animal. Even though they only exist in the Southern Tribe (iirc), the first time she saw them she was overjoyed cause she thinks they look like her dad. (He's got serious penguin/bird posture)

I wanted to play around with their outfits, def still needs improvements, but it was fun to make! I also enjoyed making the background, even if I messed up on the perspective a little.

Ever had a distant relative send a gift and your mom made you take a picture with it to show you loved it or something? This is what this picture makes me think of. I've been wanting to jump back into drawing more of these two because I've not been drawing a lot lately in general. I have to admit, I'm a hobby hopper.
In my head they received these fans from another nation, maybe Fire Nation or Earth Kingdom. What's funniest to me is how pointless the fans are in the tundra (I mean maybe it gets hot, and it's cool decor, but definitely I can imagine they would find more use out of them in the EK or FN)
Even though he looks the most bored, I bet Desna actually loves the fans because they're very intricately made, I imagine he's the artistic type. Eska likes them but didn't understand the need to take a picture about the gifts.
I also figured to how to do timelapses in CSP, I had no idea it had that ability, I am excited to show my 2 days of work within the span of 30 seconds.

I also want to write more headcanons sometime, and I want to write more of that malina fic but i only wrote one chapter. Why am i like this. I should also finish that damn comic for once, its been years lmaoo
Some Eska and Desna headcanons, and headcanons relating to them.

The reason Eska and Desna speak so verbose and poetic is because Unalaq wouldn't stop badgering them to use more proper language, and as a joke they played it up 10 fold hoping it would annoy him. Malicious compliance kinda stuff. But, it went from being a joke, to being something they just couldn't stop doing.
Everyone already had this headcanon probably, but I'll reiterate, Eska and Desna are autistic.
When Korra was super young, she was probably SUPER excited to meet her cousins for the first time. Likely she didn't interact with many kids at her compound so she thought, them being cousins, she'd get to be friends with them real easy. But no, they were so unequipped to even interact with Korra that they didn't even look up to speak with her when she greeted them. Which is why she thinks they're weird and doesn't really try to get too close. I also thought, if there was no Unalaq, would E&D and Korra have been more friendly or closer?
Eska doesn't just initially dislike Korra because of Bolin, but the act of Bolin being near or interacting with Korra was just a reinforcement of a feeling that was already there. She's undoubtedly extremely jealous of Korra cause of her father favoring her. Likely he compared Eska (and Desna) to Korra constantly, while berating them.
Eska is clearly the more explosively angry twin, but her rage teeters out really fast. The whole engagement situation is probably the longest she's ever managed to stay angry about something.
Desna seems calmer, but when he's mad, it can be very hard to read, and he could stay angry about something for years if he was left to his own devices. Luckily he's more patient and forgiving than his sister.
Both twins were sad about their father's demise, but really did not know how to handle those emotions or even recognize them. No doubt they feel a mix of emotions about it. On one hand, they grew up believing he was so great and wise, and that whatever he was doing, it was for the greater good. Lest it be the cost of their lives. Love had no place between them, especially as royalty, right? At least that's probably what they told themselves. Why get sad that he doesn't care? Or that he dies? he turned out to be a bad guy anyways. He didn't even care about them. So why do the very few good times they did have keep flashing in their minds?
These teenagers getting chiefdom is CRAZY right? Didn't even hand it to their mother? Maybe she didn't want it. But either way, of course they were mess around with these responsibilities, especially without anyone to tell them what they can and cannot do. Aside from their council.
I have more, but I'll post those another time. It feels good to get these thoughts out. If you read these, I would love to know your thoughts!
