Time loop stories are like re-tellings of myths because both say: there is something inevitable & tragic that is going to happen, but we are going to find a space inside of that story for something new & all our own anyway. We are going to chose life and chose love even if it hurts us. I am going to love you even if you’ll forget me tomorrow. I am going to live as best I can even if I’m going to die tomorrow. We are going to keep telling stories because that is all we have and the best thing we can do.
people on here are always saying “we NEED a story where the art of storytelling is abandoned” like ugh literary devices are soo annoying like that wouldn’t happen in real life that only happened to further the story (why is there story in my story) why would orpheus turn around when he was explicitly told not to why would icarus fly so close to the sun romeo&juliet catcher in the rye why are they so earnest why pour your heart and soul into anything why bother why cant all art be quippy logical monotony like my marvel movies there’s a void in my heart bc i refused to fill it and the curtains were blue
“i hate poetry its so pretentious” but then you reblog a quote or a throwaway line and say “why does this go so hard” you are desperate for poetry you are starved for it and u dont even realise you’re hungry

im starting to think the idea of the "person who thinks they're better than you because they listen to obscure music which they talk about with elitist glee on how you Wouldn't Get It" is a fake kind of person that hasnt existed for a decade. everyone i know that listens to genuinely weird and unknown music is so excited to share it with others if actual interest is shown. all the concept has served to do is make people who haven't gone deep into obscure music write off anything they're not familiar with due to fear of "pretentiousness"

the whole universe of danger days but especially the characters that each member becomes in the music videos makes me so... putting aside the comics i think on like. the level of the band itself it is very interesting you know like. commentary on the fandomization of themselves. like the fictionalizations of themselves serving as this sort of hyperaware example of the ways fan culture has sort of seeped into the perception of the band especially post black parade at the height of their career and of course the comics and album itself have so many commentaries about anti industry messages and gerard boils down the album to being about hating being famous but i think the characters that are created for each member are interesting in the way that it mirrors fan perceptions like ESPECIALLY party poisons character in relation to gerard and the public persona that surrounded him during tbp. and then they sold merch of it. like its like. yeah. we alienate this version of ourselves and we commodify it. but i think its all intentional.
“Fiona had always been shot as a waif – tendrils of hair blowing (dressed in lingerie), out in some sort of lily field. She told me she wanted to chuck that scene and be a warrior woman in a suit of armor.”
