❛ you’ve been lying this whole time? ❜
angst starters: still accepting
Melody was pacing back and forth in Hermes’ office in city hall. Manicured fingers anxiously raking through her long brown hair and the sounds of her boots hitting the hard floors was echoing off the walls. Everything happened so quickly, one second she was absolutely fine and the next she was mid-panic attack and being escorted into a private office by the god currently watching her break down. The demigoddess had calmed enough to think clearly but she was obviously still in distress as she worked on keeping her breathing steady. All of this happened because of one phone call... one simple threatening phone call from her ex-girlfriend.
Her new number was supposed to be top of the line, untraceable and impossible to find. Of course, thanks to the island’s magic the psychotic woman trying to kill her still didn’t know where she was but, she could now contact her. The woman was relentless in her quest for blood, she wanted Melody badly and she a lot of strings to pull and lot of people in her pocket in very high places. It would take all the gods in the world to take her down and now, her family in the US was in even more danger. It was probably quite dumb of her to keep all of this from her friends and family here on the island, they wanted her to be safe as badly as she wanted to keep them safe. However, she had no way of knowing in the simple knowledge of her situation would put any of them in danger and she couldn’t take that risk.
“Yes. Yes, okay. I lied, and I have been lying since I got here. I only did it to keep everyone safe, I know she can’t get to me here but now... now my other family is in danger too.”
