Mt. Matutum, the highest point and one of the dormant volcanoes in the province of South Cotabato.
"Matutum" is from a local dialect which means hardworking or resilient.
The photo was shot using a mobile phone (Asus Zenfone max pro M2) when we descended from Sanchez Peak, another must climb spot in South Cotabato.
I took the shot because of the overwhelming sight it offers. It's a rare opportunity to see the goddess' naked beauty. I live in the city, so the sight is always different.
I climbed the peak of this mountain once during a summer break. The trail was completely opposite from what you can see in the photo. You will walk limping, crawl, climb, and leap to the top then stumble on your way down. That was my most difficult trekking experience so far. I will never do it once more.
