Shooting Star
There was once a boy who loved a girl. The boy loved her with all his heart but had one problem: he could not travel to her, for they were far apart. One night, the boy looked up and saw that the stars could go as they pleased. They had a kingdom above the land and sea. They could travel as far as the darkness wanted. The boy sang to the night, asking for her help "Who asked for my presence," said the darkness "I do, my queen," said the boy "And what do you want?" she asks. I wish to travel and have one of your stars so I can go to the one I love," says the boy. "First, you must prove your love for her," says the night "What must I do?" Asked the boy "First, you must dance with me without falling in love, then you may have one of my stars," says the night The night appeared to the boy as a beautiful woman with skin like moonlight, hair like the night sky, and eyes like the Milky Way. She steps into the boy's arms, and they begin swaying like waves on the open sea. Then, like smoke, she disappeared, "do you still love her more than me?" Asked the night. The boy responded without hesitation, "I love her more than I love you, dear night." "Your heart says your love is true, but is it pure?" The night shows the boy one of the many stars in the sky. "Now you must eat the star. If your love is pure, you will travel the night sky, but if it's not, you will burn." The boy grabbed the star and swallowed it. "Your heart is both true and pure. You may travel my skies to see the one you love." Before the boy could thank the night, he was shot into the sky, leaving a streak across it. When the boy landed, he found him in front of his love. They married soon after, and the boy never forgot his gift from the night. If you see a shooting star in the night sky, it is the love of one reaching another.
