DIRK: These explore the idea of soulmates, solitude, the distance between two; your moon-mate may not be as "involved" of a relationship as without the charm.

DIRK: Stars are basically the relationship between a celebrity and their #1 fan, something which may be often started in parasocial attempts, but never really followed through. It's heavy on the admiration, despite how uneven it seems. Surprisingly, this one's also in the most common Trove.

ive got hearts as relatively regular compared to human romace, just more distilled. still got dates n closeness n the like.
moons for me was more of an overlappin charm. usually indicative of a romance havin phases, of waxin and wanin attraction. it was still somethin romantics would call "fated" but it was generally considered an "irresistible" pull/desire.
stars is always uneven s part of its nature. often happens out of admiration or in teaching roles.... someones always stars at another; it cant be a mutual stars.

DIRK: They're sorta akin to a multi-part codependent relationship; troves without it tend to have two lovers, while troves with it have more.

DIRK: The "true neutral" of these nonants, it's just a relationship between some tricksters trying to make their tricks not go too far. It's neat, and sorta pally, in a vacuum.
DIRK: So, Horseshoes. This one's special.
DIRK: Horseshoes is the rough-play. Simple, easy, end-of.
DIRK: And with that, I hand it back to you.
we split a lil here, im afraid, but im still interested in hearing your side of things.
clovers is straight luck. the feelin of a far too risky lucky streak, high risk n i feel like they could be very brief, i remember hearin of "night(s) full of clovers" yknow like sparks flyin or whatever. not usually my kind of play so i dont have the experience to back it up.
diamonds s somewhat like trolls semblance of it but its more... calm. its grounding but lighthearted, always a source of comfort. me n stitch were diamonds n moons. nothin steadier.
horseshoes were the opposite for me. felt very stuck together, protection n sometimes commitment. someone who brings you luck, usually long term. minimum games between em.
also realizin that while i have some games associated with each, i havent been addin it to each so ill do that at the end if youre interested

DIRK: But enough of that, we're in the final--and most hard-to-define--stretch.
DIRK: First off, Balloons.
DIRK: Balloons are a hard-on hard-off relationship; you beat eachother up, but if it's too weak on either end it "floats away", and if it's too hard, it "pops".
DIRK: That one was easy. Next is Rainbows.
DIRK: Rainbows are an endless ghost-hunt, a horizon-line goose-chase, the look to find a world that doesn't exist.
DIRK: Rainbows would be gruelling in a vacuum, but due to the existence of troves, it's actually quite fun; particularly with the use of Pots-o-Gold.
DIRK: Pots-o-Gold is a charm which is based in what humans would call "gold-digging", but it also has an air of the trickstery Gingerbread-Man brand of "Heeheehee you can't catch me--oh."
DIRK: If executed properly, Rainbows can shift into Pots-o-Gold.
only shit i have for balloons is, direct quote, "annoying. very playful but also fragile. dont know much else" what you said makes sense but as i remember it it was more... squeaky. not for me.
rainbows very temporary, intense n often a mix of charms. real heat of th moment stuff. if "long lasting" itll turn into something else, n often did. kinda a flash in the pan.
pot o gold is classic. life-long, "the one" kind of romance. most of th time one wouldnt share who theyre in gold with, its private buisness. may sound like what i said about horseshoe but its different. horseshoes for the road, ol reliable, but the way oned have a favorite cane. they get you through it together. golds precious, n cards kept close to your chest, yknow?
about how different games fit to em ill have to leave it for tmorrow. the bodys sick n its late.
