Interview With The Ibis Children-Tonks, Fenwick

We’ll be taking advantage of your skills with children on this one. Take Fenwick ( @finestfenwick ) with you, he could learn from your compassion and he’ll stop bitching about only having desk duty. 

His daughter Aldia is seven years old and his son Briar is five. We aren’t expecting to get extremely useful information out of them, but often children see things adults don’t. Madeline Ibis will be observing the interview from another room, to ensure that her children won’t be questioned unfairly, but so they can give us as honest answers as possible.

Both of your discretion is an absolute must. The public will panic or assume the worst if they know we’re interviewing Ibis’s family in a formal setting. 

They’re expecting you for tomorrow afternoon tea, please use glamour spells to disguise yourselves on the journey but use your real identities when conducting the interview-we want the children to be as comfortable and as relaxed as possible.

Report back to me tomorrow evening. We’ll transcribe the interviews together and then I will take them to Minister Bagnold if there is any pertinent information.

Sir, the papers that were given to Kingsley Shacklebolt have potentially connected Apasia Lux to the disappearance of Ibis. We would like to know to how to proceed.

Excellent work you two. I was hoping you’d put the pieces together. This of course, needs to stay low key. You may let the other members of the squad know if you need assistance, but tell no one else.

We’ve been tracking Lux for a number of years-she’s nearly impossible to catch. She would most certainly be worth investigating in terms of Ibis’s…situation. I trust the two of you to approach this with the diplomacy it needs.

Lux was last seen in and around Santorini, Greece, in the wizarding city that only caters to the elite. Thankfully, Greece’s Ministry has allowed to assist us with bringing Lux in, but we’ll still need agents underground, and it’s far two dangerous for you two to go with your own idenities.

We, of course, given international laws, cannot send agents under disguise, so false identities will have to do. You will the newly minted Mr. and Mrs. Yves Selwyn. The Selwyn family is so large no one is going to think twice and you’ll have enough money to shut them up if they do. You’ll find the information regarding your new identities below. Obviously, you’ll have to maintain your professional decorum, but in public, you’ll have to act like the honeymooners everyone around you thinks you are. 

We have your international floo journeys set up to leave tomorrow morning. Get your affairs in order. Bring Lux in-we need her alive. And if you can’t interview her formally, at the very least, try to figure out what she knows. I’ve included a former surveillance shot in your files. She is to be considered extremely dangerous.

If, in your mission, you run into Deputy Ibis, under no circumstances are you to approach. We’ll have our task force standing by to be sent in as soon as you see him.

You got married this past January and are now traveling the world together for the rest of a year as an extended honeymoon. Your last stop before Greece was Budapest, and you’re hoping to continue your hunt of artifacts in Greece.

Bio: You come from one of the many highly forgettable branches of the Greengrass family tree. You had a great Uncle who ensured you spent your life no wanting for anything, including what he considered the superior education. Your family moved to Bordeaux, France once you started Beauxbatons and you have preferred your adopted country since. After school, you grew bored with your life and began throwing yourself into your passion-magical wine making. Your uncle bought you a vineyard and you’ve been traveling the world since, learning from the best of the best to ensure that your wine will be the best when you get around to actually making it. You met Ivory at a high society function and have been together since. He supports your passion for wine and while his passion for artifacts isn’t the most thrilling to you, per se, you respect his intelligence and the fact that the two of you can converse. You are extremely knowledgeable on the history of wine and very excited to see and drink your way through Greece.

Memories--Open Assignment

Afternoon, squad-

As many of you know, the attack Hampstead early this morning has left three muggles dead and fourteen gravely injured. What a bloody way to ring in 1979. We are almost certain the attack was the work of some sort of gang, though we are unsure who directly was responsible. The Oblivators have already been on the scene, ensuring those who witnessed it directly now believe the incident was a ‘car bomb’--there’s a file depicting exactly what this means in the break room.

However, in the interest of finding out more information in regards to who carried out this vicious and blatant attack, a few muggle witnesses have been brought in for questioning at our decoy Muggle police station. I need two of you to work together and find out everything the Muggles know before they have their memories modified. Try not to traumatize them further, but make sure you get everything you need from them.

@finestfenwick you’re still on probation, so you’ll only be sent if one of your colleagues is feeling generous. Who’s up for it?

Open Assignment - The Burke Death Investigation-- Assigned to Kingsley

Good day, Auror Squad.

Archibald Burke was found deceased in his own home, by his very shocked young wife. Healers have already confirmed that Mr. Burke died from heart exhaustion, which fits given the...compromising position he was found in. However, his niece, Ms. Zienna Burke, is insisting that a further inquiry be had, there seems to be some distrust between the elder Ms. Burke and the younger, a Mrs. Maya Burke (nee Zabini). Given the amount of money Ms. Zienna’s family donates, the usual political strings are being pulled. I need someone to go interview the recently widowed Mrs. Burke-should be fairly shut and closed, we just need to appease the higher ups. Your job would be to interview Mrs. Burke and report back, no need to upset a grieving widow-not to mention the daughter of Andreas Zabini. The last thing we need is diplomats sniffing around or getting pissed off. To say the least, this is quite the delicate situation, and I want it handled quickly.

Fenwick, you’re still on desk duty, so don’t even think about it.

@aloveworthfightingforx Tonks, I know it’s been a while since you took charge of an investigation, but we’re desperate. There was a young man taken down in the street, murdered in cold blood, and he’s a family member of one of our trainees.

We need this solved, and quickly. I’ve narrowed down the list of suspects to:

aloveworthfightingforx A very important member of Muggle aristocracy was murdered last night, I won't bore you with the details, but long story short he's left behind a wife, a four year old daughter and a two year old son. While myself and the minister debrief the family-it's that serious Tonks- we're going to decide what adults to reveal ourselves too and which to plant false memories in. These anti-muggle arseholes are getting worse and worse maybe the minister will fucking notice that they're all linked. -he sets his jaw- I need you to spend time with the children during the debriefing, keep them occupied and see how much they know. They might have even seen something important about who killed their father and in that case, you inform me immediately. Usually people dismiss children's knowledge of magic as silly, but we can't be too careful with this case. Children's memories are so fragile you should be able to fix them right up. They probably will be confused about the whereabouts of their father, so try to explain it the best you can. This might be a multiple day thing. Pack a bag for a couple days and be ready in two hours. We're counting on you, Tonks.

The magic neighbors owled it in this morning that they heard regular shouting and then something that sounded a lot like curses. If he’s used unforgivable she could be under his total control, be hurt or worse. The subject is Niles Burke, shunned cousin of the Burke family because they caught him having sex with muggles for sport. Nasty bloke, long record, and completely mental. Wife’s name is Cherry, she’s an exotic dancer, so in a way, this has been due for a while now. We need you to bring him in for questioning, and the Oblivitators are still working heavily on that bloody doorknob incident, so we will need you to fix the wife too if at all possible. If I remember, correctly, which I always do, you Longbottom have a particular knack for memory spells. And Fortescue, this is your first crack back at it. I hope for your career’s sake you’ll be able to pull it together.
