“Nothin’ like a glass of wine to erase the day’s tensions.”
“Italian women and their wine.” Glenn chuckled.

“Nothin’ like a glass of wine to erase the day’s tensions.”
“Italian women and their wine.” Glenn chuckled.
“I work with sales.”
A vague answer, but Glenn wouldn’t question it. “That tends to pay a lot depending on what it is you’re selling.” He nodded. “What exactly was the purpose of this carnival again?” Glenn looked around at the crowds, wanting to change the subject.
“Glenn, I gotta say, I admire men like you. To be able to resist every woman that comes onto you… Or that you find attractive. How do you do it?” There was a tiny part of Clark that wished he could do that; maybe he’d still have his son in his life if he had a little self control when it came to sex. But then there was the other side that just thought that there was too much out there for him to stick to one person. “I dunno, which one do you think would be more into me?”
“Normally I would be joining you on the flirting aspect. But I’m interested in someone else at the moment.” He smiled. “I used to be a menace to women back in the day. If you can believe it.” Glenn studied the two women across the room. He noticed how the redhead was fiddling more with her hair and clothes and occasionally staring over at them. “Redhead. She’s showing obvious signs she is all over you.”
“I took care of a dog for a few months when I was a teenager.” He shrugged. “I’ll google it.”
“Thank god for google.” He chuckled. “I’m Glenn.”
Victoria glanced up at the man and figured she’d take her chances. “Why not? Where are you headed?”
“Near the government offices. Down on Via de Corso.” Glenn waved down a cab and swiftly entered the vehicle, sliding all the way over. He took note how nicely dressed the woman was. Perhaps she was someone important.
Fall Carnival: Glenn&Irena
She smiled and her eyes roamed over the blush on his cheeks as she sat back across from him. Irena licked her lips, savoring the flavor, and never dropping his gaze. “De rien,” the blonde answers while enjoying the flush that had spread over him and spooning up a bit of the cannoli filling on her finger and stuffing it in her mouth. Sucking the tip of it clean and pulling it free with a soft wet pop, her head lolling to the side a bit, regarding him. His reaction was unexpected, it was like a boy with a crush or something, not a man that had had his way with her plenty of times over. It was endearing actually. Almost feeling like starting back at square one. Almost. Irena shook her head, “Non, it’s just you, cher.” Words were nearly spoken like a tease before bringing her coffee to her lips and having a sip. “I think you’ve just been running around in the sun all day and you’re finally feeling the effects of it. What else did you and Sophetia do?”
Glenn fiddled with his fork, pushing his cannoli around the paper plate. He quickly took a sip of his beer before finally mustering up the courage to stare at Irena. “I did get her face painted. Skipped getting mine done.” He laughed. “She was also obsessed with this giant pig stuffed animal. So we played the same baseball tossing game until we won enough points.” Glenn watched as the blonde enjoyed her treat and coffee. He was glad to see her at such ease around him. The last thing he wanted it to be was awkward. The man was also aching to kiss her again. Since their “talk” the night before, he could feel it deep down inside that his body ached for Irena in the most intimate way. Finishing up his dessert, Glenn took one final sip of his beer before crushing the plastic cup in his grip. “I thought maybe we could go back over to that ferris wheel and take a ride.”
Fall Carnival: Glenn&Irena
“Did I say it was bad?” She laughed. “Beer and cannoli?” Irena questioned, her tone making it clear she was questioning, if not his sanity then definitely his taste buds.” The blonde shook her head and quickly kissed his cheek when she felt him grip her. She was looking up at him and smiling, seeing his eyes drift to her lips, the woman had to wonder when he would just do it. Just kiss her. The last thing she expected was for him to pay, especially after he said he was broke for the day but she was too late in paying attention to the exchange. Of course once they were seated the French woman used a plastic fork to dig into the Italian dessert, glancing up at Glenn in time to see the chocolate syrup drip down his chin. “You’re cute,” she confessed and grabbed a napkin. Leaning over the table and taking his chin in her hand, Irena pulled Glenn forward and kissed him. That was the better way to clean up his mess.
His eyes carefully watched as Irena grabbed for a napkin and leaned over the table towards him. His hand left his chin, which was trying to keep the chocolate on his face from dripping on his clothes. When their lips locked, he knew it wasn’t just a simple peck. He welcomed her lips and tongue, tasting chocolate between each tug. As she stepped back from the kiss, he blushed. “Thanks.” He had dated the woman for almost a year before they broke up, yet it felt like one of their first kisses. He was shy and bashful about it all. Glenn waited a moment before continuing to eat his dessert, instead watching Irena’s next movements and actions a bit closer. “Its hot tonight. Or is it just me?” He fanned his shirt against his skin, letting his stomach and chest reach fresh air. Either he was hot and bothered, or global warming was an actual thing.
Fall Carnival: Glenn&Irena
“Wouldn’t want to damage that ego at all, now would we?” She teased, smile growing the closer he got. When he touched and pulled her into him, she pressed her soft slim body against his sturdy muscular one. Her eyes bounced from eyes to lips, eyes to lips, and settled for kissing his cheek as Irena was further pulled into a hug. “You smell like cotton candy and a little bit of sweat, Mon Cher,” she murmured as they were pulling back from the hug. A smile was worn on her lips, soft and sweet, showing her pleasure in seeing him again.
As their positions were shifted and Glenn began leading her away, Irena fit herself right into his side and wrapped her arm around him as well. “Hmm,” she mused as she looked around the carnival. “That’s what girls do best,” she joked, “Get you to spend on your money on them.” Her free hand pulled away from swinging gently at her side and palm soon rested on Glenn’s stomach. “Why don’t we get something to eat, oui? You sound like quite the hungry bear right now,” she laughed and veered them a bit towards an upcoming food tent. “What are you hungry for? Start with dessert or really chow down?”
“I smell? Now that definitely doesn’t help my confidence.” He chuckled. Moving towards the food tent, he eyed what they were serving. “I think I’ll have a beer and a cannoli for now. I have a bad sweet tooth.” Glenn squeezed Irena’s side playfully, letting his eyes land on her soft looking lips. He had both a sweet tooth for both food and Irena. Ordering some snacks and drinks for the pair, based off what Irena had told him, he handed his money towards the server before taking their items to a nearby picnic bench. Sitting down across from Irena, he smiled softly. Taking a big bite of the dessert, he felt the food dribble down his chin clumsily. “Shit..”
Fall Carnival: Glenn&Irena
The fall festival, or carnival was more the correct term for it wasn’t exactly where she would be if Glenn hadn’t mentioned it the night before. Just before he slipped away from her again, to be exact. Part of her went back and forth on backing out of it until she received his text, and the want to look upon his handsome face and possibly hold his hand and be close to him again scratched away any ideas of a rain check. It wasn’t that the crowd would bother her or the festivities - she knew how to have fun. It was being out among all the possible Revelations and Cessations, her last memories of Rome had been bloody years ago and it made her a little apprehensive.
Always on time, even with taking a cab because she wouldn’t chance one of her precious cars in a lot with festival goers - people were too careless and her vehicles were too priceless. She made way through the carnival, easily spotting the Ferris wheel upon entrance, and smiled when she saw him. When close enough for him to hear her voice, she spoke to him, “Looking for someone, Monsieur? Perhaps I can help you.”
Glenn’s eyes lifted from his cellphone as he heard the familiar sweet voice of Irena. He smirked bashfully. “There you are. I began to worry. Was about to hurt my confidence if you didn’t show up.” He shrugged. Walking towards the woman and closing the gap between him, he gently grabbed her by the arms and brought her in closer to his chest. Glenn wanted to kiss her but wasn’t sure if it was yet appropriate. The idea seemed silly to Glenn since they almost had sex the night before, but he still had no idea where their relationship stood. A hug would do.
Stepping back once but still keeping his hands on her arms, he looked around the couple at the crowds and light up tents around them. “Anywhere particular you want to go?” He turned so he was standing beside her now instead of in front. The man placed his arm around her lower back, linking their bodies together. “Sophetia enjoyed the arcade games. Pretty much broke now though.” He laughed. He began walking forward, bringing the blonde along with him. They could come back later for the ferris wheel. For now he was aching for a cannoli. His stomach was practically growling, which was quite embarrassing.
Fall Carnival: Glenn&Irena
His day had been spent carrying a large teddy bear in his arms and cotton candy covering his sticky fingers. Keeping up with Sophetia was tiring and Glenn was thanking his lucky stars that he regularly worked out. He knew if not, he’d be flat on his ass after a full day at the fall carnival with his daughter. And his day was only beginning as he walked from his apartment back towards the crowds of people. Sun now setting in the distance, the afternoon glow made the fall festivities become more romantic to the man. Walking towards the giant ferris wheel, he eyed the crowd for a petite blonde possibly looking for him. Standing at the outer rim of the wheel, he checked his watch, only hoping she’d show up. He still wasn’t entirely sure how Irena felt after he had left the night before so abruptly.

Glenn: Meet me by the ferris wheel at 5?
Irena: I'll be there. Did Sophetia make sure you got your face painted?
Glenn: I left that task for you.

Glenn: Meet me by the ferris wheel at 5?
“Technically, no, but I think I might let her crash with me.”
“I think its a her.” Glenn bent down lower on the pavement trying to check under the dog. He laughed as he realized he probably looked nuts. “Ever had a dog, kid?” Glenn stood up finally, letting his hand trail the back of the dog’s back.
“I don’t usually take public transportation, but it’s usually convenient. But I swear I’ve been sitting here for at least twenty minutes.”
“That’s why I take cabbies. Care to share one?” Glenn was standing at the curb besides the bus stop, staring down at the sitting redhead.
Clark raised an eyebrow. “That’s the point. They’re young. They’re more interested in the mature, older man.” He grinned, looking around. “Besides, women that haven’t been tainted by heartbreak are so much better. They’re less suspecting of it to happen. They think you’re The One, and that you’re always going to shower them with affection. They think the sun shines out of your fucking arsehole, I swear to God.”
Glenn just huffed. He realized that he and Clark would disagree on that factor. He also thought about Irena’s heartbreak from their break up. Would she be damaged like Clark described? “Which one are you going for? The blonde or redhead?”
“I always go where the money is located. That gets me into trouble at times, though. I won’t lie.”
Glenn didn’t know if Johan could be speaking about drugs or weapons. Or both. “What do you do? I own a gym.”

Glenn quickly put back on his clothes and followed Irena’s footsteps back into her kitchen. It was noticeable Irena’s attitude had changed. The man questioned whether or not she was angry with him. He nodded and thanked her for calling a taxi but was quick to corner her against the counter and stare down at her. “This isn’t the end of us. It can’t be.” He let his fingers curl around the tendrils by her ears. “Don’t be upset, babe. We can make plans for tomorrow.” Glenn grinned suddenly, an idea popping into his mind. “The carnival this weekend! I’m taking Sophetia in the day, but we can meet that night. I’ll make sure Sophetia has a babysitter again.” Glenn considered having Irena meet Sophetia but he wasn’t completely sure if right now was the right moment for something so important. They needed to fix their relationship first before Glenn introduced his daughter to a woman.
Glenn heard the honking outside. “That’s my ride. I have the same phone number. I’ll text you the details of where to meet tomorrow night, alright.” He kissed her quickly, pecking her on the lips. “Smile, my love.” He turned to leave, heading towards her front door.
