Even after several warnings, we are buying cheap quality imported good and this disheartened me. I felt there is a need to tell people that there is a difference in small scale and large-scale productions. When things are manufactured in small scale, at a small factory or at home, it’s prepared with love just like “ma k hath ka khana”. And large-scale productions are “mess ka khana”. No doubt that there are mess, with good food. But then why do we search for a ticket home on holidays??? Here is a story about “Ekaika”, (Jaipur, Rajasthan, India) They are majorly a jewelry provider, and they are making “handmade masks” to help people fight through these tough times. Ques 1 -A little about yourself, your journey as a designer? Ans-I am Meena Verma, a jewelry designer from Mirpur a small town in UP, India. I am a self-motivated and disciplined girl with a never give up attitude. My dream is to innovate /create jewelry pieces that help women across the globe to enhance their personalities and make them feel empowered. All my work reflects beautiful culture. They are my major source of inspiration as well. Ques 2-How old it is? Ans- Around 2.5 years. Ques 3 How well do you relate to the products you design? What is the process involved? Ans- I feel a lot connected to my culture and its rich heritage. I read about our culture, the making of palaces, the people and then accordingly I design my jewelry. As an entrepreneur and a designer, I believe it is very important for a person to feel connected and be one with what they are offering to the society, as for the consumers they should be able to relate it to the product. Jewelry is something which defines a personal personality. It is something that stays for generation together, not only reflecting the rich culture but love emotions and values associated with individuals and families.
