i cannot stress this enough: during episode 10, when matteo says “i’m nervous” and david replies “i am too”, these are some of the most important and impactful lines i have seen in a tv show. so simple but so charged. a lot of the reunion scenes in the skamverse are full of sexual intensity, and heat, and that is great, but to me nothing can touch this small moment because it is so relieving, so validating, to see two young characters experiencing this for the first time and actually expressing that they haven’t got a clue what they are doing but it’s okay because they can figure it out together.

so much of the media we consume represents sex as innate knowledge, the characters know what to do and how to act right away even if they’ve never done this before and i just love that druck gave us this realistic scene that must be so reassuring for teens and young adults to watch.
