the smell was not exactly something the doctor enjoyed, either. most aspects of torture thrilled him, but the STENCH was, admittedly, a massive downside; even if the individuals managed not to vomit, there was nearly no one who didn’t involuntarily piss themselves at some point, particularly if the torture went on for any great length of time. the smell of all that, combining with blood and sweat, hardly mixed well in the air. it was only habit that had gotten him used to it, by this point.Â
he let numbers admire the saw for a moment, then reached out a hand silently to take it back once it was offered. he didn’t say, as he was tempted to, that the yelling was one of the best parts; whenever the situation allowed for a bit of noise, jekyll never made any attempt to shut the victim up. the shouting and pleading were the surest signs of pain — better than anything else, the sounds displayed whether or not the torture was effective, and jekyll secretly enjoyed them a great deal. nevertheless, if circumstances demanded, he could keep the victims quiet.Â
“ simple gag works well enough. ” with the hand that wasn’t holding the saw, he dragged the saliva-drenched fabric of the gag back up and between the man’s teeth; he was unconscious now, but as soon as that saw bit into his flesh, he was likely to wake again. when that had been tended to, he gripped the man’s hand, bent it back slightly to bare the wrist at the proper angle, and glanced briefly back up at numbers. “ … you may want to stand a few steps further back than that, if you don’t want blood on you. ”
Numbers watched Jekyll through knitted brows as he angled the wrist back. His stomach turned excitedly when the saw took position. Only was his focus broken when Jekyll suggested he move back. Probably for the best. Numbers, unlike his associate, was not a wealthy man. If his outfit were to be ruined in the gore, Jekyll would have heard about it.
So, he turned and treaded back to the table where he poured himself another glass -- just gin this time, no tonic water. Then, Numbers took a drink, which he suspected he might need, and turned back to Jekyll.
His green light came in the form of a single nod.
