One time I found an essay from 6th grade dare and it was like soooo sarcastic but it’s not because I thought drugs were cool it’s because I was very innocent (despite my literally druggie father) and thought there was no way anybody could be so stupid as to use drugs lol

I really feel like my hospital’s c suite has embraced the trump/bannon strategy of flood the zone with shit. Just throwing bad change after bad change after bad change to make it impossible for people to react to any one of them. They cut the ED staff in half to make floor staff float there to take boarding patients in the same month they introduced major iv pump changes meanwhile they’re firing all the hospitalists (who several years ago, they terminated the contract with the physician group these hospitalists had in order to hire them as employees instead) to bring in a private equity group to our “nonprofit” hospital. And that’s just this month!

I’ve been a nurse for 10 years but yesterday was the first time I really cracked a ton of ribs during cpr. Like so many ribs. It was actually the easiest cpr ever bc patient was so light and frail. Normally I am drenched in sweat and out of breath but this time I could’ve kept going for a few more rounds. However, the rib cracking did bother me more than I expected. Just knowing that my body can do that to someone else’s body. Yuck!

I’m really at the point where I’m very confident as an icu nurse and in my judgment and ability to handle nearly any clinical situation…. I don’t feel nervous before my first day of work at all anymore which I did for years. I think the only thing that gets me stressed out at work now is if it’s just too loud on the unit, confused patients overstimulating me, or crazy family. Or not knowing where anything is when I float and feeling like I’m swimming in jello bc I’m going too slow. Other than that I feel very comfortable knowing when I need to worry and when I don’t and when I need to act.
