Womenâs costumes in the Auction scene
Most of these costumes are worn over the Hannibal costumes - as seen in the last photo - and have easy front fastening so they can be ripped off during the fast change in the Overture. Some of the hats are also made so they can be worn over tiaras. The overall style is the âteensâ style with exaggerated lines, in the vein of Paul Poiret and Lucile. The colours are held in black and grey nuances, with fur, feather, velvet, beading and veils to create texture.
