I'm so stuck. I want to start drawing again but every time I draw now I hate what I'm drawing and then I don't think it's good enough so I'm stuck in a cycle of "I need practice to get where I was again but I hate practicing because everything I draw now makes me want to vomit"

Charities/organisations to avoid:
PETA: They’d rather spend their money on publicity campaigns than on the animals in their care. PETA killed 73.8% of the animals in their care in 2015 (x)
FCKH8: Is a for-profit company that exploits oppressed groups for money. They’re also wildly uninformed, and spread misogyny, cissexism and bi/panphobia, as well as stealing their posts/designs (x)
Autism Speaks: They spend most of their money on researching a way to eliminate autism, heighten the stigma against autism and don’t have a single autistic person on their board (x)
Please support other, better charities, and feel free to add any others you can think of to this.
Susan G. Komen for the Cure: CEO makes insane amounts of money, they deny a lot of requests for wigs/help with treatment/etc., and have attempted to sue other charities that use the color pink as part of their anti-breast cancer campaign. ( x x x )
The Salvation Army: They promote the hatred of LGBT+ people, work with fundamentalist Christian groups to support conservative politics and rip off and exploit workers. ( x x x )
Wounded Warrior: They take money that should be spent on veterans and blow it on huge opulent parties for the company bigwigs. 26 million in 2014 alone wasted! ( x x x )
^ Important reminder to NOT waste any money donating to these groups
Reblogging because of the added info about Wounded Warrior.
A good way to know if a nonprofit you’re donating to is allocating their money in the right way is to check out their Charity Navigator rating: http://www.charitynavigator.org
Add the Red Cross. Most of the money donated to the survivors of the Haitian earthquake didn’t even go to helping them out.
It’s a breezy summer day and the rustling from the leaves outside sound like whispers from my small apartment. I’m sitting in front of my laptop, silently studying the 1.6 billion faces speaking simultaneously in front of me. It’s Monday, the day of the weekly conference call between all Muslims. We have been required to attend this Skype meeting from the the tender age of fetus, but I had never spoken in one of them before.
That changes today.
“Hey guys, what if…” I start to say.
Nobody hears me, but I refuse to be silent. How could I show my face again on Tumblr if I couldn’t even save my mayonnaise friends from death? How could I expect to earn their respect? Anon was right; why hadn’t I done this before? Thousands of lives had paid the price for my ignorance, but not anymore.
“What if you guys….. stopped killing people.“
Suddenly, silence.
1,643,398,023 pairs of eyes are on me. My heart is in my throat as the ISIS leader gives me a blank expression.
A single tear rolls down my cheek. "Please.” I say with a broken voice.
He is moved.
“Aight”.
My fingers are almost shaking as I carefully type in the ten digit phone number I have had memorized my entire life. The buttons on my home phone seem to glow a bit more dull, and even the ringing of the phone from the other end seems to be agonized, almost as if the world is telling me to hang up. But I refuse to give up; I can’t let my white lily friends down. Not again.
The phone rings once. Twice. Three times. Still no answer. Just as I am about to hang up, there is a click.
All I can hear is heavy breathing.
“Hello….” I say quietly, my voice shaking. “Is….. Is this Muslim?”
There was a long silence before I heard a voice answer “ya lol”.
“I was thinking………..” I begin cautiously. “Maybe murder is…………bad.”
“Habibi, I…..I don’t understand. What are you trying to say….?” The voice seems shaken.
“What if…….world peace is good and killing people is…………not good”
He lets out an audible gasp. “Are you saying ISIS is…….bad?”
“Maybe death is…….not good.” I continue. My heart is racing. I remind myself that I am saving thousands of lives, and inhale.
The silence from the other end of the line is almost deafening. He seemed to be thinking, as if he had never considered this idea before in his life. Truly I had opened his heart and his mind. This…. This could end terrorism.
“Muslim….Please.” I whisper.
I hear a tear roll down his cheek, with my Muslim Communication Hearing™ and hold my breath as he finally breathes out his next words.
“Kk.”
“I hear a tear” How do you hear a tear?
Ah, you must not be Muslim,
guys I know you’re excited about season 3, but what if I told you SEASON 4 IS OFFICIALLY HAPPENING? Because it is.
A South Miami police officer won’t face criminal charges for shooting and wounding an unarmed former college football player during a traffic stop at a gas station.
At the time Gavins was wounded, he was the fifth person shot by officers in South Florida over the course of one weekend.

Last officer to be charged for a shooting in Miami was in 1989 & was acquitted? Wow

This is what we’re talking about! Officers of the law not being held accountable for their crimes they know they can freely commit with no punishment. Many cops think they can play God. They are supposed to be protectors….hero’s…. but instead become the villian. We hardly see the cops who actually get involved. The ones who do care. Clean the precincts! Don’t allow violent cops with a history go to other towns to continue the evil trend! Stop hurting people who have someone to go home to too.

African-American DISNEY ACTRESS Is Racially Profiled and Beaten by LA police
Another case of police brutality against a popular African-American Disney actress - Rae’Ven Kelly, who starred in A Time to Kill, Vampire Slayer, and Hannah Montana.
She was stopped by a transit cop who accused her of “jumping the train” and of not paying her fare. After Rae’Ven showed her receipts for her paid fare and the paid fare for her upcoming connecting train she was reportedly accosted and arrested. Cops threw her to the ground, handcuffed her and groped her inappropriately. According to the reports, her phone was immediately confiscated after her attempt to videotape the incident.
Her shoulder and wrist were injured while they put her in the sheriff’s car. The cops made offensive comments like “well, you know how these people are…” and called her “girl” all the way to the police station. In the station she was physically abused, denied feminine products and was forced to sit in her bloody and soiled clothes, ridiculed and roughed up.
When they finally recognized her, they began calling her “Miss Kelly” and asked to sign the form saying she wasn’t harmed by any of the sheriffs, but she refused to sign.
So they waited hours to release her so the swelling and bruises would fade away.
Beasts and scum! No one was punished or even accused of the crime!
You can read the story told by her own here.
The media keep silent about the brutal incident!

Wowwwwwwwww
I just found an old message that made my whole week 5x better
Washoe was a chimp who was taught sign language.
One of Washoe’s caretakers was pregnant and missed work for many weeks after she miscarried. Roger Fouts recounts the following situation:
“People who should be there for her and aren’t are often given the cold shoulder—her way of informing them that she’s miffed at them. Washoe greeted Kat [the caretaker] in just this way when she finally returned to work with the chimps. Kat made her apologies to Washoe, then decided to tell her the truth, signing “MY BABY DIED.” Washoe stared at her, then looked down. She finally peered into Kat’s eyes again and carefully signed “CRY”, touching her cheek and drawing her finger down the path a tear would make on a human (Chimpanzees don’t shed tears). Kat later remarked that one sign told her more about Washoe and her mental capabilities than all her longer, grammatically perfect sentences.“ [23]
Washoe herself lost two children; one baby died shortly after birth of a heart defect, the other baby, Sequoyah, died of a staph infection at two months of age.
more about Washoe:
after the death of her children, researchers were determined to have Washoe raise a baby and brought in a ten month chimpanzee named Loulis. one of the caretakers went to Washoe’s enclosure and signed “i have a baby for you.” Washoe became incredibly excited, yelling and swaying from side to side, signing “baby” over and over again. then she signed “my baby.”
the caretaker came back with Loulis, and Washoe’s excitement disappeared entirely. she refused to pick Loulis up, instead signing “baby” apathetically; it was clear that the baby she thought she was getting was going to be Sequoyah. eventually Washoe did approach Loulis, and by the next day the two had bonded and from then on she was utterly devoted to him.
*information shamelessly paraphrased from When Elephants Weep by Jeffrey Masson.
Even more interestingly, after Washoe and Loulis bonded, she started teaching him American Sign Language the same way that human parents teach their children language. It only took Loulis eight days to learn his first sign from Washoe, and aside from the seven that his human handlers learned around him, he learned to speak in ASL just as fluently as Washoe and was able to communicate with humans in the same way she could.
now if y'all don’t think this is the tightest shit you can get outta my face
