Hiatus
Definitely been gone a while. I'm back now and ready. So, question: Who's your favorite interracial couple?
Hiatus
Iāve been pretty sick and recovering from surgery. It is terrible how much ignorance and discrimination one can face in their everyday life. I am going to attempt to fill everyone in on the photographer I encountered in my last story titled āI didnāt know she was blackā. Feel free to voice your opinions I love to hear what otherās think, whether they agree or disagree.
Dying is easy, it's the living that's hard.

Need a friend.
I really need a friend right now. My husband and I are fighting but it's never been this bad. How do you walk away from the person you love, and still smile?
"I didn't realize she was black"
Yesterday, my husband and I were out looking for photographers for our Christmas pics. While we were at it, we decided we'd do some intimate photos as well. He called around and found a lady who would be perfect, and we ended up going to her studio so that Zack could pick out a package. I stayed in the car so that I wouldn't have to get my baby out in the cold, again. He had scheduled us an appointment for today at 5:00 pm. Once we arrived, I noticed someone looking out of the window and seemed surprised to see me. We gathered our things and headed in, but once we got to the door we were stopped in our tracks by a young man. "Do you have an appointment today", he said and of course Zack answered yes. He told us that he apologizes for the inconvenience, but the photographer was out sick today, which of course was weird to us and just didn't sound right. So we went back to get in the car and my husband spotted the lady he made the appointment with, grabbed my arm and walked me back into the studio. The lady was on the phone, and believe it or not, she was telling someone that she didn't realize she would be photographing a mixed couple, let alone a black woman. I'll admit, it did hurt my feelings but my pride made me speak up. After the quarrel, She emailed my husband apologizing and offered to do our session for 60% off, but no one of that nature will receive a penny from me. Should I have accepted her offer?
Mmmm... I had to take a moment out of my day and share him with you.
Do you really have to ask why? Gorgeous

Taye Diggs and wife Indina Menzel.
The number 1 interracial couple of America! This is at the number one spot because this coupleās marriage overturned state laws in the United States that prohibited interracial marriages. Richard and Mildred were from Virginia and met when he was 17 years old and she was 11. As they grew older, their friendship blossomed into romance. When Mildred was 18 she became pregnant so the couple decided to travel to Washington, D.C. to be married. Five weeks after their wedding, they were awakened at 2 a.m. by police and arrested for being married to one another. In 1959, they pleaded guilty to the charge against them and were sentenced to one year in jail. The sentence was suspended on the condition that the Lovings leave Virginia and not return for 25 years. The Lovings moved to Washington, D.C., and faced housing discrimination, compounded by deep unhappiness about not living close to their families. Mildred wrote a letter to Attorney General, Robert F. Kennedy. Kennedy then forwarded the letter to the American Civil Liberties Union. After many setbacks throughout a nine-year period, their case was heard before the U.S. Supreme Court. In 1967, The Supreme Court decided unanimously in their favor. Richard later said āFor the first time, I could put my arm around Mildred and publicly call her my wife.ā In 1975, Richard Loving died at age 41, when a drunken driver struck the coupleās car. Mildred Loving lost her right eye in the same accident. Mildred died of pneumonia in 2008, at the age of 68. The couple had three children, eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Interesting Fact: An annual celebration called Loving Day is held on June 12, the anniversary of the 1967 United States Supreme Court decision. Many organizations sponsor annual parties across the country, with Lovingday.org providing courtroom history of anti-miscegenation laws, as well as offering testimonials and resources for interracial couples.
