I'm sitting here looking at my dirty living room carpet, covered in threads after cutting and sewing all the stupid pillow covers for a customer that I underpriced. Only because I didn't realise how much work it would be to reclaim the fabric from old curtains that were supposed to be washed but weren't. I had to wash them, separate the fabrics, cut everything apart, throw away what wasn't usable, fold up what was left, make templates for the cushion covers... and, and, and... argh!!!
Then I picked my son up from school. It's his last day before the summer holidays, and I suddenly realised that my daughter is starting secondary school in September and my son is going into Year 3...
Where the heck has the time gone?
At least the raspberry ice cream I bought for all of us was nice. 🍨
Why do I have to do all this adulting on my own?
I still have three other jobs to finish by Saturday morning, so I have to push the cushion covers back until after the weekend so I can finish the other jobs and actually get paid, because money is tight. And all because rescuing that curtain fabric took so much longer than I expected. 😭🤣
Taking care of two kids (one disabled and one who's still learning how to human), looking after a home and all the endless home things, and trying to build the company of my dreams isn't easy.
Today I'm just... an adult.
And I kind of want to be a happy-go-lucky teenager again.
Time flies way too fast. ⏩⏩⏩
