This painting by Manuel Castanon is genuinely my favorite depiction of the white walkers.

There are many great arts of the white walkers but none really captures their eerie beautiful and absolutely eldritch energy. The long limbs, the uncanny valley stare the thin yet still very present hair, how it WALKS i don't know it's just so perfect to me.

I find that creatures are 10 times scarier if they just look a bit wrong instead of looking comple inhuman. The ones in the show and many illustrations look a bit too...halloween like idk how to say. But this one? This one is something that could be captured in a grainy picture and create a whole online community obsessed with the creepy pasta and urban legends sprouted from it.

It's such a tasty shade of creepy i absolutely adore it!!

I love how general audience reaction to Criston's "greatest warrior" line is mockery, when, in fact, he was one of the greatest warriors of his time in Fire&Blood.

1. From knightly house Cole (father steward for Dondarrions) to Kingsguard and Hand of the King.

2. He's a marcher, probably most militaristic region and culture of Seven Kingdoms due to constant fighting with Dorne.

3. He actually beat the shit out of Harwin Breakbones Strong, that the guy was nicknamed Brokenbones after that.

4. He defeated Joffrey fairly during a tourney, and Joffrey died from injuries. Not incel rage at a wedding.

5. A line from F&B has him as "exceptionally skilled warrior".

6. Weapon of choice is morningstar, cool as shit.

7. !!! 104 AC he won a melee against Daemon Targaryen, who the general audience hails as greatest warrior lol.

8. Quickly brought Crownlands to heel for Aegon. Medieval blitzkrieg.

8. Planned RR ambush with Aegon and Aemond which resulted with Meleys and Rhaenys dying.

9. Died trying to save his men (challenged THREE men to a duel against himself so his men would be spared once they yielded, not himself), was cowardly shot at.

* this is not a defense of criston's moral character, just a rant how stupid that line was when the show decided to erase all the feats that made criston one of the greatest warriors of his time. If you're gonna spam me with "he's a pos" don't bother, i'm not saying he isn't.

just because other characters see sansa as stupid or empty headed/a body to exploit doesn't mean you should like.... buy into that... i think perception of a person vs whats actually going on is important to all characters but i think this fandom is way too ready to project onto sansa those ideas that are meant to be thwarted , they don't have the full picture of her and thats the point, i dont think you should be agreeing with sandor,lysa,cersei or petyr ect who are complex in their own right but actively cause her distress and harm BECAUSE of their projections.

People love to pretend that the narrative want us to see Sansa as stupid for belive in knights and songs (as Brienne and Duncan do) because other characters see it as stupid, but they do not want to see that the characters that call her stupid..are perceived as extremely stupid or fallimental. WHO THEY ARE?

1. Cersei is perceived as an idiot by her own father and her brother and end up losing the ROYAL SHIPS to a man just because FROM AFAR he looks like Rhaegar Targaryen, the prince that never even cared about her. Cersei was called stupid by everyone.

2.Joffrey is labelled by every single human as a stupid sadistic psycho that end up dead after almost destroy a kingdom, because he couldn't think before act. Joffrey was called stupid by everyone.

3.Lysa is completely delusional and victim of hysterical fits and she also openly admits to be devoured by jealousy for Sansa's beauty and youth.

4.LittleFinger and Olenna are smarts but perceive themselves as mentally superior to everyone, and this will probably be their ruin and also they call everyone stupid, even their own relatives.

5.Sandor defines Arya as stupid more often and with more cruelty than he does it with Sansa and yet he trust Sansa with his biggest secret. He make fun of Sansa's trust in knights and Gods and yet he almost died crying about his incapacity to be a knight to SANSA and get saved by a priest that once was a knight. Sandor proved she is right and her empathy is not passive.

Condal read GRRM's blog post and said okay fine here's Maelor but he'll die in childbirth or very shortly after. That way Maelor isn't included for any of his book plot moments that make Rhaenyra's side look bad but just so he can say that he technically exists in the show (and pretend that was always the plan and not reactionary to the blog post). This will also likely be Helaena's primary motivation to die (since GRRM was not happy with the fact it happened for "no apparent reason" in the original outline he saw). This way Rhaenyra isn't involved in Helaena's death whatsoever and if anything Helaena hiding her pregnancy for so long will be viewed as the issue. It does turn the tragedy of Helaena into something it wasn't in the books, and much like many of the other show changes, it's doubtful this one will be an improvement on the original.

They're making the Hightower house looking like a greedy disfuctional family like it's not one of the oldest houses in the continent having damn Oldtown, their history and the faith, at least, not perfect but NOT such bad relationships.

And they're making the most arrogant selfish and pothetic house looking like they are poor babies just fighting for their dreamy happy life in the castle and periodically burning some fields and houses due to their boss-mood and then walking sad because people are planning riot against them?
