sketch of my dunkaerion’s family vision
at least sometimes Aerion’s rude words beat really hard. and Dunk need time
the vibe
hbo got fans are shipping sansa with jace and valarr because “they’re her type”
the modern university situation
(Aerion is a damn owl but every 3 days a week he wakes up too early to drink coffee at the same time the giant finishes jogging. Aerion looks perfect. And - yes, he knows, why you, little leeches, are here too)
(sketch) love dunkaerion headcanons
Aerion, who loves his husband and children and wants to burn down the rest of the world, but only because of them every morning tells himself to think about it tomorrow
continue to deal with AU Dunk (the septon with some knights skills)
seven gods should be very thankful
poor Dunk fights every day for them
i also think he is spending a lot of time with Egg and girls for prayer (and protection)
Dunk was absolutely sure they were friends
but Aerion said NO (he’s obsessed with Dunk’s long hair, his lips whispering prayer and his height)
love
love love love
dance
made with love
the same vibe
Dunk is the the orphan from Oldtown, abandoned by a hedge knight.
He had a short story of friendship with the Prince during the royal visit.
We actually celebrate the fact that Jon and Sansa were never close as children and here people are saying that’s a bad thing like no sis it’s not. Not for where we want that storyline to go.
and still the worst thing Jon remembers about Sansa in the books is her calling him half-brother
i mean
Sansa is still radiant
I'm getting so sick of major female characters in historical media being incredibly feisty, outspoken and public defenders of women's rights with little to no realistic repercussions. Yes it feels like pandering, yes it's unrealistic and takes me out of the story, yes the dialogue almost always rings false - but beyond all that I think it does such a disservice to the women who lived during those periods. I'm not embarrassed of the women in history who didn't use every chance they had to Stick It To The Man. I'm not ashamed of women who were resigned to or enjoyed their lot in life. They weren't letting the side down by not having and representing modern gender ideals. It says a lot about how you view average ordinary women if the idea of one of your main characters behaving like one makes them seem lame and uninteresting to you.
It also almost always comes down to poor research.
Rather than research the ways subversive women really acted, what they really said, what they actually cared about, the very specific ways in which women used to be treated, dismissed, infantilised etc, we get books and TV shows in which modern words, modern concerns and modern ways of being “a strong woman” are awkwardly squeezed into eras in which they make no sense.
It’s a disservice to the real feminists of that time, to the real women who lived and survived in a system of continuous misogynistic oppression, and the real journey we have travelled to get to where we are, and the long long way we still have to go. Worse, it feeds into the ignorance that breeds that complacency which then leads to a lot of the gains we have made being taken away from us.

im in the same boat re: stark history. like, DONT CARE, i want my stark history book with vaguely characterized family members and silly propaganda. just thinking about what it would reveal about the politics in the north and the parallelism we would get to our starklings… also just the potential of getting some more stuff about the old gods + whatever bloodmagic is going on in the stark history… makes the brain buzz.
EXACTLY i want to know more about northern religious practices, i want to know annoyingly sparse details about all of cregan’s kids, i want there to be stans for random dead stark baby #12!!!!!!
not to be a hater but like THIS is the actual main magic in the books, it’s northern magic, it’s weirwood based magic, it’s greenseeing, it’s skin changing, it’s the long night. the only other rival for most prevalent is not actual valyria is rhollor, and yes there’s crossover but the dragons & the incest are a footnote for dany. it’s as prevalent as like,,,, the ironborn magic. which is to say it’s THERE but it’s not actually the main thing we’re focusing on. and often i think people are very surprised when they get to the series & it’s mainly stark povs & lannister-baratheon politics - which is often influenced by what?? WEIRWOOD BASED DREAMS and stark politics & personalities!!! and when we finally get into essos, what are we focused on? it’s not valyrian & it’s not even rholloric it’s GHISCARI. dragons aren’t relevant!!!!
