God this shit pisses me off to no end. Being told that I have male privilege as a non passing trans guy with no medical access after being raised as a Mormon girl is the most infuriating thing ever. I was raised in stricter gender rolls than the vast majority of particularly the western population. I was taught that my value was in my virginity and willingness to bear children. As a CSA survivor who never wanted kids I was basically taught I was a worthless soul. I have been objectified in ways that most cis men could not imagine.

I have experienced systemic VIOLENT misogyny in my life that has informed the man I am today. Telling trans men to sit down and shut up IS misogyny. Plain and simple. If you engage in putting down the lived experiences of gender nonconforming people, regardless of if they are transmasc or transfem, you’re fucking weird and transphobic.

Hey Hillary, I’m gonna do you a MASSIVE favor and jump in and say if a trans person doesn’t pass to you, it’s not really polite to immediately tell them that they don’t pass to you. If it’s something that you feel bad about thinking then it’s probably something you should feel bad about sharing unsolicited. Not mad, as you don’t seem to mean harm, but that kind of thing is very dysphoria inducing. In the future, maybe don’t tell that to a trans person if not asked for. I know I’m for the most part nonpassing, but that doesn’t make being referred to as a girl or being perceived as a girl any less hurtful.
