GAME OF THRONES: SEASON 7, EPISODE 7
Winter is coming. All men must die. And Game of Thrones is back! Stay tuned each week as we unpack Sunday’s episodes through masterpieces.
The Great War Is Here.
Armistice, between the houses of lion, dragon, and wolf sigils. Like the one queen, we’ve been here waiting for some time, and the series writers, directors, and producers apologized with an epic finale!
An uneasy communion between sides opposed, with distrust, fear, anger, and hatred running back decades.
A demonstration of the terror that is the living-dead threat to the north frightens some to cowardly retreat but (appears to) unite others. A queen is visibly shaken by her encounter with death.
False pretenses convict a general to ride north, abandoning his sister-lover-queen. Elsewhere, a brother fights to regain his dignity, before setting sail to rescue his imprisoned sister.
With the chill of winter in every corner of the north, one sister passes the sentence of execution towards a manipulative courtier and the other sister slashes the traitor’s throat. Justice, finally.
As the season came to an end, a visionary sees past and future: history is discovered to be a lie—as a secret wedding revealed the true heir to the throne—and yet as the ravens fly to the edge of the world, the apocalyptic army of the dead are seen at the wall, the centuries-old only hope for humankind’s survival.
The ice-dragon’s flames bring the wall to the ground. Winter is here.
