Pretty sure that anon was bitchin about you putting the "jack Abbot x reader" and "samira Mohan x reader" tag where as of now your fic is mostly "jack Abbott x samira Mohan"
In my opinion you didn't do anything wrong and it's not that hard to scroll past posts we don't like, without being rude to the authors...
Okay, if that’s the case then that makes, I mean my series is still a mohabbot x reader fic, we just haven’t gotten to the mohabbot x reader romance part of it.
Again if that’s the case, I like to keep the same tags for each part when I’m doing a series because in my mind it just makes more sense for me, given that i also have adhd keeping a set routine for fics makes it easier for me.
I mean maybe I’d be a bit more picky with my tags if I was writing on ao3 because i know they're die hard for their appropriate tags on there, i've always felt that tumblr and wattpad were the more chill environment for fanfic writing.
however yeah, if you do not like how i write or how i tag my fics, then maybe my blog isn't for you and you know what, that's 100% okay no harm no fowl on my end.
stop tagging ur fics x reader if it’s character x character tags exist for a reason
I’m gonna assume you meant this in a respectful manner, and just wanted to point something out I’m missing? therefore I’m going to treat this ask with the same respect back to you.
I’m gonna admit that I’m unsure what the difference between a character and reader insert is in regards to my fic, specifically because the only defining details to the insert are that the reader is a lead guitarist in a band, that the reader is female, the band mates, and that her (the female reader) nickname from trinity is star. (If there’s more I’m missing please let me know, as it’s been a very long day and my brain is currently working at half capacity.)
I’ve seen other writers use way more defining details for their x reader with no issue or comments like this, so I’ll admit this has me a bit confused, it’s been a while since I wrote fanfic so maybe that’s where I’m lost.
so, if someone would please tell me what the clear differences between x character and x reader fics are for my fic specifically, because if it really is an issue I can edit my fics to match or if it’s really an issue I can change the tags.
⇢ summary: when samira can't let things go, the situation reaches it's breaking point.
⇢ warnings: poc!fem!reader, reader uses she/her pronouns. readers contact name is star, reader is a lead guitarist in a famous band. swearing. suggestive language. very little to no use of y/n (just not a personal fan of it, therefore use of it will be limited to nonexistent). slight descriptions of self-harming behaviours (skin picking). light angst.
⇢ a/n: hey… how y’all doin… been a minute... but I’m back to regular scheduled uploads for this series. anyway, please let me know what y'all think if this chapter and the series as a whole, constructive criticism is always appreciated and if you had any idea's for the series feel free to comment or you can put them in my asks.
⇢ extra note: so with how busy i've been at work this week i didn't notice my tumblr glitched and this chapter removed from my scheduled posts for some reason? and because of that this didn't get posted on wednesday at 9am like it was supposed to be. (due to this i went back and made this chapter a bit beefier as an apology.) still expect another update tomorrow as well.
written plot at the end!
samira's pov
trinity's pov
you had been the first one to arrive at the bar, which had been very crowded when you arrived. Honestly, it was a miracle you even managed to snag a table but, you did manage to get a big enough booth off to the side for everyone.
you were early, a whole hour early actually. it wasn't intention by any means however, it gave you a minute to breath and let you think for a moment.
you were understandably nervous, well.. not nervous, more stressed and irritated. trinity had always made it very hard to say no to her, she didn't even do it on purpose either, you'd never been in a situation before where you felt wrong saying yes to her.
well you hadn't until now, now everything felt too chaotic. it felt like an impossible battle to win, on one hand you extremely disliked samira and would rather stay as far away from her as possible, and on the other you understood that trinity was now friends with her, not to mention they were coworkers.
in any other circumstance you probably would've already lost your cool on samira and distanced yourself, unfortunately you understood there are real consequences for trinity so realistically what could you do?
you'd been turning it over in your head and maybe the girls had been right, maybe you just need to tell her exactly why you do not like her however, tonight on a night out with drinking involved was not the time or place to do it, too many variables for disaster.
so, you decided you'd bide your time, be respectful but distant tonight and find another time and place for that conversation.
while you waited you couldn't help but think how odd the situation truly was, if samira had been any other woman she'd be the first you'd seek out in a crowd. you may be full of rage at what she did, but it didn't mean you were blind.
samira was breathtakingly gorgeous, in a way that made you take multiple glances at her from afar. it almost felt like a joke, she was your type in women down to the way her voice sounded like sweet honey to your ears.
and of course a woman that heavenly had a equally as attractive, successful, and seemingly attentive man on her arm, you couldn't help but roll your eyes at the thought.
the last man you'd let in your life was nothing like jack abbot, he'd been disloyal, greedy, unsupportive and now that you had the time to reflect on the relationship you'd realized that he was also extremely verbally and emotionally abusive.
there was a small part of you that was self aware enough, that realized another reason you were holding onto this hate for samira was that you were jealous. jealous that she had a man like jack, a man who from what you could tell based on your short time knowing that couple, worshiped the she walked on with such devotion it could make greek gods cry.
it was for that reason that you also couldn't help but watch the older man that first night, he was undeniably handsome sure, but he was also strong in a way that showed both dominance but also security. not to mention, there was a kindness in his eyes that you might not expect from a man such as himself.
all of these qualities made the man that much more attractive to you, which caused an even greater turmoil inside you. you'd never been the type of woman to think too deeply about another woman's man, at least not in the way you found yourself thinking about jack.
however, was it really that horrible if you had the same thoughts about samira?
"look at you," a very loud and familiar voice called out, you looked up from the table to see trinity and dennis walking towards you, "god that outfit!" trinity all but squealed.
you stood up to greet them, trinity pulling you into a tight embrace, the smell of sweetened alcohol was strong on her already.
"thank you trinni, you look amazing as well," you laughed, squeezing her just as tight, "you also smell like you had a pretty decent pre-game."
dennis laughed before you pulled him into a hug as well, "oh, you should've seen her," he chuckled, "if we hadn't left when we did she might've drank the whole bottle of smirnoff."
"yeah, sounds about right," you shook your head with an amused smile, moving to sit back down into the booth with both of them following as trinity grumbled in mock betrayal.
it wasn't long after that when everyone else arrived, stuffing themselves into the booth to talk for a bit before moving up to the bar to order their drinks.
it also didn't take long for you to notice samira's eyes drilling into the side of your head when she thought you weren't looking, there was a slight thrill inside you at her attention.
the more you drank with everyone the less tense you had become, and that was a dangerous state to be in, your filter had pretty much been non existent at this point.
your own personal interests outside of music being shared when prompted by victoria, inside jokes about trinity and yourself being shared to make dennis feel better when trinity mentioned their first shift together, and stories of your own childhood shared when mel asked.
you noticed there was just something about mel that made it so easy to share such vulnerable moments with, maybe it was how soft her voice was, maybe it was her calming demeanor, or maybe it was the alcohol, regardless it put you at ease.
so much so, that you noticed you weren't all that bothered by the presence of samira or jacks in the moment. however, again that could have been attributed to the drinks that kept being thrusted into your hands.
it didn't take long for trinity to reach her black out point, and when that happened she grabbed your arm pulling you to the dance floor.
samira's eyes had been glued to you all night, it wasn't even something she could help. it was like you were a magnet, pulling focus to you.
she couldn't help but notice you'd been in a better mood tonight, you weren't actively being rude or even as distant as when you had first met.
it striked both her and jack as odd however, while jack had assumed it was solely due to the amount of alcohol you'd consumed, samira took it as an invitation. you were in a good mood, which in her eyes meant that you'd be more receptive to finally having a conversation with her.
an idea she had whispered in jack's ear when the rest of you had been busy talking, one which he had shook his head at, not thinking now was the time or place for that kind of conversation.
unfortunately he knew his girlfriend well enough, and he knew that once she set her mind to something, she had a hard time letting it go. especially if it was something that was causing her anxiety to go wild, then it was entirely impossible to convince her otherwise, even when the logic he used or the points he made were right.
so, he kept his eye on both of you. watching how you interacted with samira, watched what samira was saying around you and vice versa, making sure that whatever temporary peace between the three of you wasn't jeopardized.
the last thing jack wanted to deal with as the only sober one was drama, not that he didn't care about his girlfriend or her worries, but he was old enough to know when to avoid unnecessary conflicts, and he especially want to avoid them on one of the very few nights he had off.
as he looked over at you and samira he couldn't help but appreciate how good you looked together, the sounds of your laughs sounded like the sweetest harmony, your smiles radiant, and his mind couldn't help but wander.
of course jack had always been a faithful man however, he couldn't help but think that you'd look good on his arm, if he was truly honest with himself, his mind went to a very greedy place. while he watched over the two of you, he thought of what it might be like to have both you and samira on each arm, what it would be like to have you both in the same bed....
he quickly shook his head, he shouldn't be thinking of you like that, not only did he have an amazing, talented, and gorgeous girlfriend, but he also didn't really know you still, not to mention the slight guilt that had crept in when his thoughts had drifted to another woman.
he started at you both for a brief moment and when his worries were calmed, he decided to look away and start up a conversation with dennis, figuring that everything was safe for tonight.
oh how wrong he was....
by 12:30am it was safe to say that everyone who had been drinking was hammered. by now mel and trinity had challenged two frat bros to a dance battle, victoria had gotten up on top of the bar when her favourite song, and you and samira had this weird unspoken truce that allowed you to dance together without things feeling uncomfortable.
or you thought you did...
the heat of sweaty bodies all around you had made the drunken haze feel more intense, the air sticky and musky, bodies crammed so close that people were bumping into you left and right.
not that you minded, alcohol made you less bothered by small inconveniences like that, as the bass bumped so hard you could feel it in your chest, the heat of samira's body was pressed against your front.
you found yourself lost in the moment as your hands ran up and down her body with the beat, almost in a trance with how hypnotically she moved against you.
you looked back towards the table for a second and briefly caught jack's eye, his intense gaze on the two of you had a slight heat running up your spine, he sent a wink your way before turning back his conversation with dennis.
you focus was pulled when samira turned and wrapped her arms around your neck, "will you come outside with me? i need some fresh air!" she shouted over the music.
you nodded slightly, she grabbed your arm and pulled you to make sure you stayed close to her.
when you passed through the door, the outside air hit you like a truck. the stark contrast from muggy heat to the cool breeze felt very sobering in the moment, it was almost as if something clicked into place and that mind-numbing bliss shattered.
it was then that you noticed samira was still holding onto you, her body heat being the only thing keeping you warm since you'd left your jacket at the booth.
"i feel like i should've dressed warmer." sher grumbled, your gaze travelling to her frame, the dress she had on was a short, tight, and cream coloured silk fabric.
you chuckled, watching as she wrapped her arms around herself, "yeah maybe..." the agreement coming out soft but amused.
there was a moment of silence that passed between you both, you looked down at the ground, awkwardly scuffing your shoe against the pavement.
"why don't you like me?" the question came out slurred but also oddly confident, you looked back up to see samira staring intently at you.
a slight huff escaped you, "what makes you think i don't like you?"
she narrowed her eyes at you, slight annoyance in her features, "don't answer a question with another question."
and just like that, whatever unspoken peace was broken, you could already feel the irritation seeping into your bones, "listen, this isn't a conversation we should have tonight." you sighed out.
"well, i can't just pretend everything okay." the statement landed worse than samira had intended, she visibly watched your back go up.
"mm, well we don't always get what we want do we mohan." the grit to your tone now evidently clear, you were pissed off.
"okay, seriously what's your problem?" her voice getting louder with her own frustration, "you don't treat everyone else the way you've been treating me!"
a humorous laugh escaped you, you shook your head in disbelief, "are we really doing this right now?"
"yes!" she shouted, her breathing harsher now.
"fine, i don't like, i haven't for a while," you shout back, "i'm sorry it's so hard for you to not have everyone like you but that's life sweetheart!"
the usual term of endearment jack had for her being used as an insult had her recoiling fast, it's not like you could've known that information but maybe that's why it struck her like a punch to the gut.
"why? what did i do to you?" her breathing now ragged with anger and anxiety.
you took a deep breath, pinching your nose as if that would do anything to help calm you down.
"it's not what you did to me, it's how you treated trinity." the explanation only further confused her.
"wh-what are you talking about?" she blinked, her mind drawing a blank to anything she could've done to upset trinity enough to cause you to be this upset on her behalf.
her confusion only proved to anger you more, "her first shift," you state, only to be met with more confusion, "when you told her she had an aggressive energy."
samira frowned, "that's it?" she asked softly.
"what do you mean that's it!?" you raged, "do you have any idea how badly that messed with her?"
"it was constructive criticism between coworkers."
"considering it made her cry, and rethink her position at your hospital, i'd say it wasn't very constructive." you laughed, you actually couldn't believe she didn't see how that could've been taken as an insult.
"what?" samira whispered, "she never told me that."
"yeah well that's trinity," you huffed, "she's not really big on sharing her emotions, and honestly why would she tell you, your comment just brought up her own issues."
the more you explained the closer samira could feel herself getting to a breakdown, the tears were already trying to escape.
"do you know how many people have made her feel like she's too much? told her she's too aggressive, too sarcastic, too much to love?" you roll your shoulders, "and your little comment on top of an already shiity day complelely torn her down."
"i didn't know.." samira whispered, unconsciously she had started to pick at the skin of her thumb, her anxiety getting worse by the minute.
"now you do," you grit out, "so yeah, i don't like you because the one time she needed the people around her to make her feel included and like she could be herself, she got told once again that she's too much."
once again you shook your head, anger rolling off you in waves as you walked back inside the bar. leaving a crying, shaking, and drunk samira standing outside on the dark and cold sidewalk, with quite a lot of things to agonize over....
summary: a struggling pasty chef finally catches a break when you're given a chance to work at 'The Pitt', a popular restaurant in Pittsburgh. you find it difficult to find your confidence, it will be harder with Jack Abbot around. you make it harder for him to remain a good mentor.

BY THE BEACH ☼
☼ one shot | jack abbot x fem!reader ☼
⇢ summary: somehow the vacation robby peer pressured him into taking, turned into a shit show when the beachfront airbnb jack planned to stay in was mistakenly double booked.... or did it?
⇢ i know that everyone voted for this fic to come out first before the cabin, however i reread what i had before i took a quick writing break and i now hate the whole fic, i really think i can do it so much more justice than what i have currently. so, i plan to rewrite the whole thing, which does mean it will likely come out after the cabin gets posted.
(feel free to comment 'by the beach' if you liked to be added to the taglist for this fic.)
I feel as though I may actually be cursed, apologies for not updating but my life is a mess right now, so here’s the scoop, I went on vacation and immediately got the stomach flu and my period, then I felt better and didn’t write anything because I wanted to enjoy my time off since I only felt better for the last few days of my vacation. Then I got back to work and had the busiest and shittest week of my life and to top it off the day I got paid my debit card had a $700 fraud charge on it that I now have to dispute with my bank but I can’t do that until Monday because banks are closed 🫠 I promise I am not abandoning the lovebomb series, I will be writing more and updating next week. I thank everyone for their patience and I look forward to updating when I can.
for anyone wondering why I haven’t uploaded anything since friday this is why….
finally get time off from work and plan to write a bunch✅
immediately get the stomach flu ✅
get over the stomach flu ✅
get your period the very next day which involves more stomach issues (vomit, passing out, etc) ✅
anyway, I’m finally feeling better, I will be writing tomorrow so hopefully I have stuff to post in the next few days, thank you all for being patient with me while my body fails me lol.
as an avid book reader who loved reading the got and the hotd fire and blood books, here’s my opinion of the show
the show is glorified fanfic at this point, it is so far from the original story that, two episodes into season 3 and I’m already heated.
at first I didn’t have an issue with the show and some of the changes but now that we’re 3 seasons in, so many things have been changed that I’m actually debating not continuing to watch the show.
this new season and even last season had me second guessing my own memory of the books that I actually had to get my book out and start fact checking in real time.
so, change of plans because I seem to have the worst luck ever. I got the stomach flu, so I actually didn’t get around to writing the rest of by the beach or finish working on the cabin.
as a result I’m going to push back the posting date not sure when yet, depends on how I feel come tomorrow and if I’m able to leave my bed for anything other than the bathroom (tmi but wtv)
⇢ a/n: do not fall for the propaganda of 'comedic' america! nickelback has always been and always will be the shit! (also, the spelling mistake on stars first text is intentional this time lol, given that when people are angry they are more likely to make spelling mistakes)
you were out on a night drive when the message came through, something you did often to clear your head on nights were sleep simply wouldn't come.
so, you didn't see the text at first, it was until half and hour later when you pulled into your driveway that you finally checked your phone, you didn't see the text at first, preoccupied with checking other notifications.
just as you stepped in the entryway of your home did you see it, the first thing you felt was disbelief, you had assumed that you had done a decent job of not showing your disdain for the couple, apparently not.
the longer you looked at the message the more the anger returned, the sound of trinity crying over the phone ringing in your eyes.
'who cared if trinity forgave her and was friends with her now, doesn't mean i have to do the same' you bitterly thought
you couldn't be made at mel for giving samira your number, there's no way mel would've known not to, that didn't make this any less frustrating.
it was like you couldn't escape the woman since you met her, you had run into jack at your favourite cafe the night after the bar, not that he saw you, no, you made sure that wasn't the case.
anytime trinity brought up her work days samira was almost always mentioned, and now she had your phone number.
you felt as though you were losing your mind, so many thoughts running through your head as you began to spiral into rage, you almost send several replies but managed to keep yourself under control.
something about the woman and her boyfriend got under your skin in a way you couldn't explain, and at this point you had no idea what to do.
you understood on some level you were holding an unfair grudge, however, you kept finding reason to justify it in your head. that she made trinity cry, that she didn't even know the hurt she caused, that she hadn't even apologized... the list went on.
you didn't want to make things harder for trinity, so you did what anyone would do, you took a screenshot and sent it to the girls.
well... that hadn't helped you a whole lot.
the only thing it successfully did was calm you down for the time being, but you knew that wouldn't last long, especially if you had to spend more time around samira.
'a conversation, could you even do that at this point? was it even worth it at this point?'
you shook your head, a deep and heavy sigh leaving your lips as you got yourself ready for bed.
tomorrow was a new day, and maybe you'd be calm enough to make a decision with a level head.
you plugged your phone in and shut it off before, getting into bed and passing out with one fleeting thought on your mind.
you needed to figure out what to do, and soon, because it was only a matter of time before you lost your cool and crash out on samira mohan.
it’s thursday which means the week is basically over, I’m having a very delicious poké bowl for lunch, and starting tomorrow I’m on vacation for the next little bit 😮💨
