Hell no, well atleast not like that. I personally don't think this conversation should take place until you've been dating for atleast 3 months. The conversation should start with: Where do you see us going? Are you dating other people? Or, what are your intentions so far when it comes to us. Take his answer, and let it be.. For now.

Dating. Feel him out. Let him court you but be okay with paying for something as well, like leaving the tip after dinner or tipping the taxi driver. I'm coming to realize that REAL MEN are okay with this. If he refuses then that's okay, don't push it. Make plans the next time around and ask him sweetly if you can pay. "Sweetheart please let me pay, you always pay for everything and I would really love to feed you this time" Smile big, beg (a tiny bit) and pay the tab. Being pushy is never the way to go.

Dating. The first date. You listen to what that person has to say. Past relationships, dreams and views on life. The whole time your thinking "hmm how much of this is real?" How do you tell?? You wait it out. Listen for warning signs. See how many times (as the time goes) he contradicts himself (if any) and go with the flow. Don't ask to many questions. Let him answer them himself by his actions.
