Punks In Vegas are teaming up with some of their favorite musicians this holiday season to raise money and awareness for music education, via The Manilow Music Foundation, a non-profit organization that donates instruments and materials to school programs. Be sure to check out this cause and support if you can!
Citizen Join The Mightier Than Sword Family
We here at Mightier Than Sword are excited to announce our newest signing: Toledo, OH’s Citizen. This young group of dudes has been churning out awesome punk/indie jams for a while now, and have found a perfect home at MTS.
The band recently released their debut EP “Young States” digitally back in September 2011, and will release the vinyl LP of the record this January via Either/Or Records (US) and City Of Gold Records (UK). They’ll be entering the studio mid-January to record two tracks for an upcoming split with Virginia Beach, VA-based Turnover to be released Spring 2012 via Mightier Than Sword / Broken Rim Records.
If you haven’t checked these guys out yet, head over to their Facebook page to stream the entire “Young States” EP, and more.
Keep an eye out for some big Citizen announcements coming in 2012!

Senses Fail "The Fire" Vinyl LP Update
The vinyl is in and we are ready to start shipping out orders right away, but want to address a minor color issue before we begin packing this up.
The pressing plant messed up the 2 color combinations, and the vinyl was pressed differently than what we had ordered. The red/yellow swirl came out solid red and the brown/orange came out solid peach. Due to this issue, we would like to offer you 2 options: 1) switching your LP color (from red to peach, or peach to red), or 2) a full refund on your order. Please let me know what you would like to do regarding your order by 10 AM EST the morning of Tuesday, December 19th, otherwise your order will be held until we hear back from you. You can reach me directly at [email protected] and I will confirm your decision via e-mail immediately. You can view the two color options below.
You will be receiving an e-mail confirmation with a tracking number when your order ships. If you don’t, please e-mail me directly ([email protected]) and I will send you your tracking number directly.
Citizen Announce New Split With Turnover
Citizen have announced that they will be releasing a new split 7” with Turnover. The 7” will be released via Mightier Than Sword/Broken Rim Records in the spring.

PropertyOfZack Road Blog : : Last Call (Update III)
From Adam Blasco:
Once again, from a Starbucks in Wilkes-Barre, PA, I’m beginning the third installment of Last Call’s Road Blog Extravaganza. I feel that this one will be a bit shorter than the others, as I’ve slacked off a bit this past week, and will be writing 100% from my memory. Hopefully I don’t forget too much of the cool shit. We started off last week with something that every touring band loves: we went to Fayetteville, NC where Lyle’s family lives and got to sleep in a nice warm house, eat a delicious home-cooked meal, and meet/hang out with some awesome people. It was hard to say goodbye and head to Virginia Beach, VA. VAB is awesome; we’ve got a bunch of awesome friends there, and both of the shows on this tour were great. It was only sad because that was our absolute last show with our good friend KOJI. We played an acoustic set with Karen Estrella, a singer/songwriter from VAB. Karen has alway supported and followed Last Call in all the we’ve done, but really caught our attention a few months ago when we randomly posted a video on YouTube of her rendition of one of our songs, Glassell St. (from our 12:57 EP). That blew our minds, so we were REALLY looking forward to seeing her play live. She played an awesome set, and with a bit of coaxing, we even got her to play Glassell St. live. We had a great time playing our set, but Koji’s set was what wrapped the entire night up on a great note. He played his normal set, then proceeded to play songs shouted out by kids in the crowd. After the show, we had a couple hours left with each other, so we took full advantage to hang out and talk with each other before we all headed our separate directions.
We drove overnight from VAB to Brooklyn where the majority of our band was seeing for the first time ever. We parked our van at the Mightier Than Sword HQ and headed into the city for the day. We took the train to Manhattan and got off at Times Square. We spent the next few hours walking around and seeing the sights, visiting stores, and of course eating New York Pizza. Early in the afternoon, we headed back to the MTS HQ to take care of some mail-order, and other things before picking up our good buddy RJ (Owner of MTS) and heading to our show in Long Island. This was the first time that everyone but myself had met RJ in person, but it was like we’ve all known each other for years. We spent the next day and a half hanging out with RJ & his roommate Jayme at the Dirty Driggs (their apartment in Brooklyn), in the city, and at our Brooklyn show. We all had a blast, and finished out our first New York trip with a little business meeting at the MTS HQ. We hashed out a few more details about our upcoming release(s) which is super exciting for us.

Note that Last Call left on our fridge. Rad dudes. I wish more bands left notes. That’s our 2nd one. The 1st was left by The Greenery last year when they stayed in our townhouse. Things like this make sure I never give up on music. :)
