APOLLO / mtxolympians
He watched her make her way towards the bench, staying nearby but not touching her. She seemed very unsteady and the last thing he wanted was for this mortal to fall and injure herself, so he remained ready to catch her if she fell. She managed her way on her own and Apollo moved towards her slightly so they were not talking at an awkward distance.
Listening to her speak he wondered what mortal had bore his resemblance so well as to shake her, after all he had come first. Though now didn’t seem to be the time to point that out. Thinking for a moment he tried to think of any way to ease this mortal’s mind and pain.
“With over seven billion people in the world, there is bound to be a few who look eerily similar. Doppelgängers I believe they are called.” He gave her a reassuring smile, small but even still it seemed to shine it’s own light. “I am Greek, if that helps. That is where the accent comes from.”
RAYNE UNDERSTANDS THE CONCEPT OF IT, of course there are going to be people who look similar to others, but he’s identical and that’s what’s throwing her off.
her hand settles somewhere on the left side of her chest, vaguley positioned over her heart where fingers cling to the fabric of her t-shirt like it’ll have any effect on calming her. she needs to breathe at a more regular pace but it’s proving to be a lot easier said than done.
❝i understand that,❞ and she does. ❝but it’s not–❞ rayne takes in a shaky breath and shakes her head. it’s hard not to feel like someone somewhere is watching this unfold and laughing at the way it dredges up an assortment of feelings that threaten to tear her into pieces.
she can’t breathe.
The distress coming off the mortal in front of him was concerning and he immediately went into “help” mode. He knew he had his own history of fucking things up along with everyone in his family, but he was also a god of healing and she needed some. Even if it was emotional not physical. Slowly he crouched down in front of the bench to be closer to her level. Looking up at her he did his best to send her calm and collected energy.
“Hey, listen to me you’re going to be alright. Yea? Take some breaths with me. In... and out..” He kept his eyes on her and modelled the slow deep breaths as he counted them out loud to to. “In.. two, three. And out... two, three. Good, job” He didn’t stop until she seemed to have at least gotten control of her breathing back.
