The shoebill (Balaeniceps rex), also known as the whale-headed stork, and shoe-billed stork, is a large long-legged wading bird. It derives its name from its enormous shoe-shaped bill.

In Uganda, Shoebill storks can be spotted in several destinations such as Lugogo swamp in Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, Mabamba swamp on lake Victoria, Murchison falls national park along the Albert Nile and the shoebill storks can be viewed during the Nile delta boat cruise, Lake Mburo national park in western Uganda, Toro-Semuliki game reserve

In Uganda lions are mainly found in the three largest savannah parks: Murchison Falls National Park (MFNP), Kidepo Valley National Park (KVNP) and Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP). lions are surprisingly easy to spot on the Kasenyi and Ishasha Plains.

The 3 Days gorilla habituation experience takes you to the Southern sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda, Rushaga which is a popular region with the highest number of habituated gorilla groups. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park has the highest population of Mountain gorillas in the world. It also has the highest number of habituated gorilla groups. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the only gorilla park where one can take part in the gorilla habituation experience. Mountain gorillas are wild and are naturally wary of human beings. Gorilla habituation means training the gorillas to get used to the presence of human beings without causing any change in their behaviour.
